Toasted oak leads here, with dried fruit, nuts and baking spice riding along, and a fresh sugarcane-honey note keeping it from getting too dry. This is Papa Rouyo's first aged agricole from Guadeloupe, and members find the earthy, vegetal palate the real signature. One taster leaned toward the nose over the mouth; most just call it complex and savory at a fair price.

Papa Rouyo continues its rise with this first aged rum full of promise. On the nose, toasted oak lets the spices express themselves alongside dried and shelled fruits. The sugarcane, honeyed and fresh, adds creaminess to the nose, balancing it with earthy, floral notes and aromas of tobacco. The profile is harmonious and works very well. On the palate, the freshness of earth and vegetation is felt. Oak barrel, roasted nuts, and spices offer something quite indulgent and tasty, joined by dried fruits, caramel, and sugarcane. The profile is dry but rather well balanced. The alcohol is well integrated, the 46% ABV feels just right. The finish is of decent length. You find roasted notes, spices (chili, pepper, vanilla), oak, tobacco, and slightly earthy and vegetal notes. Sugarcane, caramel, and dried fruits are also present. An aged rum with potential, looking forward to seeing what the distillery can offer with older profiles.

The Papa Rouyo Jénérasyon 3-year-old rum is amazing and complex. The nose is dominated by woody notes, dried fruits, tobacco, and spices. The palate follows the same vein as the nose but with a bit less roundness. The finish is medium to long. Very pleasant with the same markers as the nose and palate.

17/05/2026: Advent calender: Le Monde des Rhums 2025. On the nose you immediately get some nice Agricole notes. The palate is rather unique with earthy, vegetal notes. I prefer the nose slightly more than the palate. Plus, I like that it's bottled at 46% and it's easy sipping.

#5792 29.09.2025 Day three of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. Considering the price tag this is a very good rum actually. Wood and ABV integration is near perfect and the fruits ans apices go very well together.

Interesting value for money for this agricole from 7Guadeloupe. Good potential for the coming years. A very tasty and complex 3-year-old that makes this bottle a very nice discovery.
