One taster called this a "surprisingly fruity adventure" after a rustic, almost dusty-dry nose — and that split is the whole story. You get dried and tropical fruit with a whiff of solvent up top, then caramel, popcorn and dark chocolate on the palate. The tawny port finish adds a warm, berryish, nutty sweetness to a rum that otherwise reads dry. Fans of the Spanish style without heavy sugar tend to like it.

Blind tasting of El Ron del Artesano. A nose with dried fruits and tropical fruits, wood and an alcohol not quite well integrated. The palate is soft, pleasantly woody with fruits (apricot) and a nice bitterness. The finish is rather short but supported by this bitterness.

Shop visit Rum Paradise Hamburg April 2025. This Artesano somehow lacks punch. Dried as well as tropical fruits on the nose, as well as solvents. On the palate, a completely different picture, caramel, popcorn and dark chocolate are recognizable here. Thanks HH, see you again in December :)

A good rum. Nice experience, after the rustic smell you embark on a surprisingly (but not overwhelming) fruity adventure. Especially for rum drinkers who like the Spanish style but not the excessive sweetness, this is a good drop.

Aged and bottled in the Black Forest. 8 years Bourbon, 2 years Tawny finish. Completely without sugar or color. Also dry on the nose, almost dusty. The finish brings a warm berry, nutty sweetness to an otherwise very dry rum.

The first rum for today. The Tawny Port Cask 10 years.. I already had the eight-year-old and actually don't find this one better. A few fruits can be recognized in the taste. Maybe also very light notes of chocolate.
