Short trip Lake Constance December 2025. Pub Heimat Lindau. The best of the 3 in this pub. On the nose for me exclusively caramel and vanilla. On the palate it is then roasted, smoky and spicy, also some vanilla and very soft.

A lot of caramel and dried fruit on the nose. Unfortunately quite boring on the nose. Then surprisingly smoky on the palate like a Scottish whisky with a sweetness. For me unfortunately not so good. Also the alcohol strength could be a bit higher.

I don't expect much. No info on where the molasses comes from, how old, what it's blended from, and then heavily reduced. Nose: surprisingly, some pleasant aromas come through in the balloon nosing glass. Fruity and spicy, slightly smoky. A mix of citrus and tropical fruits, but somewhat artificial towards candied lemon and orange peel. Plus vanilla and caramel sweetness. Feels fresh and unobtrusive. Quite okay. 7.0 Palate: as expected, somewhat thin and light, but not flat. More on the spicy side. Slightly salty with nutmeg, somewhat bitter-fruity towards lemon peel, and at the end, like on the nose, more artificial towards candied lemon/orange peel. Again, not bad but quite boring. More % would be good, definitely an entry-level rum without sugar with a little bite. 6.8
