Rum4u Hampden Jamaica, 28months Madeira cask, DOK
Hardcore Hampden fans and ester chasers are the audience here. At 80.5% and marked DOK, it's a pineapple-and-glue bomb with young wood and a warm, almost marshmallow-sweet middle. What surprises most tasters is how well that alcohol hides — several swore it drank like 55-58%. A short, slightly "dirty" finish and a whole full-strength bottle make this more curiosity than daily pour.

How does Rum4u Hampden Jamaica, 28months Madeira cask, DOK taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Ferocious DOK ester bomb, shockingly drinkable A brutal ester bomb that shocks people with how integrated the 80.5% feels. Loved by Jamaica fans; the finish turns short and a touch dirty, and the strength is a lot.

An explosive nose due to the 80.5%, esters are first. But there's also young wood, pineapple and other tropical fruits, and a slightly dirty side. The palate is violent, but the alcohol, though very present, does not dominate. The fruit is there, along with a little wood. The finish is short and dominated by wood and dirt. Interesting for its excessive ABV on paper but tolerable in real life, and its evolutivity on the palate.

OMG - 80,6% with so high esthers is deadly combination. You cannot breathe for a while. Even "worse" feeling than my first experience with Reunion "Lava" Hampden je destilerka produkujici neuveritelne vonave rumy. Proto take cast jeji produkce smeruje jako zakladni surovina pro parfemy. Doporucuji ochutnat jemne a presto chutove neuveritelne bohate rumy starsi 20let, pripadne velmi mlade rumy s vysokou estherovou slozkou oznacovane jako DOK. Vysokeho objemu alkoholu se nebojte ;)

Unglaublich, dass man den DOK mit 80% überhaupt trinken kann. Der Alkohol ist erstaunlich gut eingebunden!
