This Longueteau Blanc is produced from Blue Cane grown at plot #4 and was in slot #10 in my 2025 Advent calendar. Overall an agricole with a rather weak nose, but with a great palate. The nose is floral, fruity, spicy and round with scents of sugarcane, grass, citrus, lemon and salt. At the palate it’s elegant, smooth, round, mineral, spicy, floral and fruity with flavors of salt, iodine, pepper, sugarcane, grass, citrus and a little oily. The finish is rather long and mineral with flavors of salt, iodine and citrus.

Meh, I much prefer the monovarietals of red cane. Also too expensive, you can find whites of the same quality for half the price. Nice to try but not worth buying a whole bottle for me.

Licorice, banana, sweetness, iodine, yellow lemon, fresh cane Very Longueteau style. I should compare it to other Longueteau to capture the subtleties of this parcel.

A Longueteau made from blue cane, whose aromas and elegance are all felt on the nose. Exotic fruits and citrus reveal themselves with a very gourmet touch of marmalade, you feel a salty and iodine influence that stands out from the rest of the profile, both complete and tasty. The attack on the palate is delicate and sensual. The freshness of sugarcane and cut grass, citrus and exotic fruits share the palate before the pepper comes in to give some liveliness. The marine side still stands out on the palate. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is long, on candied cane, citrus (lemon zest), iodine, salt and earthy, floral and vegetal notes. This single parcel rum has the advantage compared to its brother from parcel no. 1 with its more distinct aromas, but overall it is a rum of beautiful roundness, elegant and very approachable.

Dry, it's very smooth, surprising for 55%. Almost exclusively fresh cane. In ti'punch with sugar, it keeps the same profile with its sweet and fresh side. A simple, pleasant and accessible rum, to offer to beginners to demystify the proof in favor of quality. Tasted again blind with the 2023 advent n19. Same opinion, I would have guessed 50% ABV. Good but nothing special neat, I wouldn't find it worth buying, but I can drink it occasionally for a simple good moment. Edit 2: I'm back at SXM in a blind comparison with the 1. I soften my rating but keep the same opinion, I would rather drink it in ti'punch, and that's very rare for me. Compared to the 1 the nose is much more closed and dry even if you also perceive the notes of bitter almond and nice fruity-citrus. On the palate it gains in citrus attack, then a less pleasant bitterness, hence the interest of sugar-lemon. Don't hesitate to let it rest easily 30 minutes.
