Grassy sugarcane, dried apricot and peach up front, with pepper, herbs and a licorice-menthol edge that keeps it fresh. This cask-strength Bielle agricole from Marie Galante is young and lively — one taster called it a "easy" everyday agricole. A few found it a touch sweet or too woody with grippy tannins in the finish, but most enjoyed the fruit-and-spice mix once it opened up.

#6813 20.05.2026 Training has been done on the bike and now it is time for some samples and included spitting. Watching the new Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. This is a nicelyt balanced Bielle with an OK price tag. A naturally sweet rum with nice Agricole notes, fruits, spice, some ginger and roasted wood.

Retasting of the Rum X Advent calendar... unfortunately had less time than I thought. Doesn't wow me... Agricole profile, too sweet on the palate and not really balanced. Not for me at all. Didn't finish it.

Day 12 of the RumX Advent calendar: Needs a bit of time in the glass to fully unfold and smooth out the initial bite, but develops into a nice agricole with an appealing mix of sweetness, herbs, spices and fruits.

Day 12 RumX Advent Calendar 2024 Sorry folks, but this was unfortunately not my thing today. The first sip fresh after pouring was nothing at all. The whole mouth tingled. In the aftertaste, it then became quite sweet in the mouth, almost artificially sweet. Nice to have tried, but unfortunately not my thing at all.

RumX Advent Calendar, day 12. An expressive nose with unusual fruits, mango and lychee, bitter herbs and a fermented side. Alcohol and wood well integrated. The palate is baroque with aromas of varnish, fruit, candy, bitter herbs, sweetness and spices, especially licorice but also very refreshing menthol. The finish is medium length, on spices and the bitterness of the wood. A very beautiful rum, baroque but interesting and makes you want to taste it again.

Unspectacular on the nose. A bit of yellow fruits, citrus fruits and little wood. I estimate ABV around +/- 50%. On the palate then very surprising, herbal-sweet and very fresh/sparkling. I wouldn't have expected that. For the low ABV a bit too sharp, but otherwise I like it. Maybe a continental aged TDL?

RumX Advent calendar day 12. A Brut de Fut from Bielle. At first impression/sip I liked it better, so I have to rate it a bit lower. It's a bit too intense (herbs and chocolate) on the palate for me.

Strong and relatively balanced young Bielle. Young wood, light herbs, mirabelle, dried apricot, peach, and lots of pepper. Overall personally too woody and too many tannins and sour tannins in the finish.

RumX Advent Calendar 2024: No. 12 Very nice surprise. A rum with very fruity influences. Spices and wood lightly in the background. Alcohol very well integrated. Velvety soft on the finish. But I can't assign it to a specific country.

RumXmas 2024, day 12: First impression: French territories, aged Agricole. Time for some air. Starts with sweet fruity notes but also a fresh citrusy side On the middle and the back of the tongue I get the grassy vegetal notes of agricole A bit oily in texture with some bitterness in the finish that lasts quite a while. Again the agricole profile. Alcohol estimated around 55-57% 4 hours in the glass or so. I stand bij it, aged agricole. It’s rather elegant, the alcohol is well integrated by now, because of that I’ll say max 55% :wink: I lack experience in the profile to differentiate between distillieries. For the fun of it I’ll say Martinique :grin: I like it: 8,6

Rumx Advent calendar blind. On the nose, nice fresh mint. Really pleasant. On the palate, something honey-like with orange. Also menthol at the start with a certain sharpness, which is still manageable. High-class rum. Really good.

Number twelve from the RumX Advent calendar. Very fruity on the nose with dried fruits, apricots and peach, which is confirmed in the taste. Additionally, I think I detect a note of licorice. Delicious.

Fruity and floral, it's clearly an agricole. I'd say Martinique, because it seems more straight than usual Guadalupe agricole, maybe saint James due to a toasted note I find drinking. The floral note is still there in the mouth, with some freshness from sugarcane

RumX Calendar 2024 Day 12: Quite closed nose, slightly malty, a bit of freshness in the background. On the palate first a lot of sharpness, with some time wood, grass, white pepper, herbs. Gentle alcohol, well integrated. Finish medium length, slight bitterness at the end. Aged Agricole, possibly Rhum JM from early 2000s?

It's funny, there are some Bielle I love and others much less. This one falls rather into the second category. Often it's because I find a too dominant sweetish, honeyed side. That's the case here. Tasted blind, on the nose I thought an agricole from Guadeloupe but on the palate I thought it was rather a punchy South American rum.

Day 12 RumX Advent calendar Nice young-tasting Agricole. Few grassy notes, lots of fruit. I find such Agricoles perfect as easy soup base rum. Dried fruits with plenty of peach, young wood and vanilla with candied fruits. Simply simple but really good.

Bielle Brut de Fût 2010. Surely there are better Bielles, but this bottling at least delivers a pleasant peach note, some mint, herbs, spices. However, it also brings quite a bit of sweetness. Overall not quite so harmonious.

Rum X Advent Calendar Oliver Gerhardt 2024 Day 12 The vintage Bielle rums are all great and this one is no exception. Beautifully integrated wood and unmistakable agricole signature. A very, very nice piece.

Very covered entry on the nose with some wood and spice notes. On the palate with pleasant nutty aromas and bitter spices, in the finish still quite present spicy sharpness, the alcohol integration also doesn't feel completely clean. Overall a bit too rough, which affects the balance.

RumX Advent 2024-12 Nose hardly anything to smell today. Spicy and floral. Some fruit. On the palate quite floral with lots of spice. Some fruit like apple. Lots of wood. Definitely agricole. I guess young, but very active wood. And without a real idea on Bielle.
