Nice nutty notes, cask, menthol, orange, the tropical storage doesn't really come across. Blind, I would probably put it in the direction of TDL .

On the nose: First notes are fruity, mainly orange. After sitting in the glass you get more woody notes, herbal notes, hints of tea. Spice notes appear, like cinnamon. Orange and orangepeel still being the main notes. Abv feels nicely integrated. Taste: Orange notes upfront. Woody notes. Spices. Barrel influence is there giving some spices. Finish Woody notes, orange peel. Menthol notes being the dominant one.. Quite dry and finishes to bitter notes. Medium-long finish. What was somewhat a promising rum based on nosing, didn't really deliver on the taste for me. I would put this in good rum category, because while the flavour profile didn't really offer me much, the quality was still good.

A solid Isautier as you know and love it. Citrus fruits and chocolate, wood and spices, and above all caramel and chocolate. Plus herbs and a bit of smoke, giving it a complex and well-balanced nose. The palate continues in the same way, with the cinnamon note standing out. Class!

With some common aromas of Isautier molasses rums - dark caramel, vanilla, spices. Also vegetal notes as well as an intense note of fresh wood. In this intensity, that's rather unusual, but by no means unpleasant or inappropriate - a welcome unique feature for this release. The complexity isn't enough for even higher praise, but the release is still at a great level.

A very decent offering for the American market. It doesn't align with what we are used to in tropical aging taste wise. Still manages to impress as an offering. This can absolutely be bottle killed in an evening
