Very disappointed, for me it is very close to a rice alcohol with a touch of lychee. If I compare it with Lao Kao (rice alcohol from Thailand that costs 3 euros locally), I find almost no difference, neither on the nose nor on the palate. Swell had really accustomed us to a much higher quality than this. Maybe some will appreciate it, for my part, I pass.

Interesting new mixing rum, especially a great daiquiri rum! Pure but a little too thin, unfortunately. The nose is incredibly fun, but the taste isn't quite as fruity as I'd hoped and I don't think the wood quite fits the picture here either... It's a shame that potential was wasted here, either the wood should have been left out completely or allowed to mature longer. As it is, it's a bit of a hermaphrodite and can't decide what it wants to be... On its own, it's also too bitter and medicinal on the finish... But it really cuts an outstanding figure in a daiquiri! The little bit of wood adds some vanilla to the otherwise intense notes of banana, raspberry and green bell pepper.

All in all, it's not really something I'd like to drink straight again. I can imagine it in a daiquiri etc. or in a TiPunch. Mixed with cola for a CubaLibre, I didn't really like it either.

New tasting notes: obviously it's a baby Swell. Not a great batch but it goes in all directions and offers nice fruits. Overall, it lacks a bit of punch for me, but very appreciated by the table. Old notes: "Really cool at this price, a must-have? In summary, my tasting notes: Nose: Tropical fruits, Ester Palate: Yellow fruits, Ester, Young wood Finish leaning towards: Yellow fruits"

Swell de Spirits tries a rather bold blend of several origins. The nose is dominated by funky, medicinal and mineral notes, especially esters. Tropical fruits (banana) and pear are also present, supported by floral notes and scents of sugar cane and vanilla. A rather ample and generous nose. The duel is more balanced on the palate. Esters and fruits are still perceptible, but wood and spices push through, reinforced by caramel and honey. There's a slight metallic touch that adds some character to this rounded profile. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is of a correct length. The blend of origins is felt with a rounder, caramelized and spicy side on one hand, and a fruitier, medicinal and tannic side on the other. The blend drinks quite well, even if it comes at the expense of complexity. Swell de Spirits aims for a more accessible and mainstream market with this cuvée, which remains crafted but very affordable in terms of price and tasting.

I can’t be too demanding with this blend when I know the low price. The nose is largely dominated by fruitiness, a mix of pear, banana, passion fruit, a bit of sugar too. On the palate it’s less precise even if there is still fruitiness evolving towards a rather vegetal side and light young woodiness. The finish is short with a bit of bitterness like citrus.

A small swell dip downwards, somehow this rum isn't my thing, the mix just doesn't work for me here. Tropical fruits and esters sound good, but paired with the vegetal notes, it somehow doesn't fit for me.

Interesting exotic blend that Swell put out and which can immediately impress with nice scents on the nose. Vacation feeling... yeah, that fits. Nice ester-fruit combination. On the palate, however, somewhat young wood dominates and it becomes more floral. As a mixer an interesting outsider, but pure I miss too much.

Nose that evolves a lot, going from fresh cane to spices then fruits. Very promising. The palate, however, leaves us wanting, and the flavors are very hard to distinguish, even if the sugar cane takes a predominant place. Interesting but the palate is a bit disappointing.

A blend in which the Jamaican is well present. A rather light nose. On the palate, it's fruity, a bit of esters. A strange sensation I couldn't identify. Not convinced.

Really a bland product. Maybe just right for mixing, I wouldn't know because I prefer products neat. It left me puzzled because of the unremarkable taste and the poorly executed blend of the various origins.

An aromatic rum with notably a very fresh nose on pleasant lychee. Unfortunately falls a bit flat on the palate and on the finish, a pity. A bit of disturbing bitterness in my memories at opening, clearly reduced afterwards. I didn't have too much trouble finishing the bottle though 😅

Very pleasant, soft and enveloping without being cloying. Very good between the main course and dessert. Nose first on banana, a bit of cane behind. Then blackcurrant cream. Nice entry, pastry with a bit of exotic fruit. Fat in the mouth, very soft, a bit woody then red fruit charlotte. Fades a bit quickly.
