Most tasters walked away disappointed with this one. The nose brings banana, mango and a medicinal edge, but the recurring complaint is raw, unintegrated alcohol that flattens everything behind it. There's some vanilla, caramel and cane sugar on the palate, plus a little young oak, yet several members felt it read as young and short on real character for a single-cask Mauritius release.

#4117 I'd say this one is a bit disappointing because the other releases were pretty good on average. Naturally sweet with fruit and light roasted wood and lightly dry on the palate. Draws nice curtains and the empty glass is nice with stronger chocolate and a very light smoky note.

Mauritius almost always brings me joy. This one, not so much. It doesn't taste like Mauritius at all. It reminds me more of an unbalanced young Agricole. With lots of grassy, vegetal aromas, but also piercingly sharp.

Very disappointing Mauritius rum without a recognizable profile. On the nose, barely more than a neutral alcohol note with minimal sweetness. On the palate, flat, empty, and surprisingly characterless, almost like better neutral alcohol with some wood dust. Neither fruit nor spice develop meaningfully, depth or structure are completely missing. Overall, hard to understand why this rum justifies its own bottling.

Too bad, expected more from this rum. It's very alcoholic in nose and palate. Also very medicinal on the nose, plus banana and mango. On the palate, young wood and chocolate are also noticeable.

On the nose lots of banana, alongside mango, vanilla and light wood notes. On the palate primarily wood, sugarcane and caramel, with tropical fruits in the background. The alcohol already slightly noticeable on the nose is more present here. I expect that this will dissipate a bit with an opened bottle. Only time will tell. On the finish again wood and sugarcane.

Not much happening here: some sweetness from the cask, green apples, a slight Camembert note. Alcohol could be better integrated but improves with longer standing time. Unfortunately, the apple notes then fade away, leaving the sweetness behind. Also, a slight cardboard note is disturbing.

Relatively closed nose. Second nose on some yellow fruits and white chocolate (quite strange). The palate is dominated by pear, wood, and still white chocolate. Dry finish of medium length. A mediocre and uninteresting product.

Phew, this is really not my thing at all. In my opinion, bottled way too young, quite rough alcohol, with a lot of sweetness behind it that leaves hardly any room for a real profile. Unfortunately, it has too much of a hint of neutral alcohol for me. A shame, but luckily there are much better bottlings from Mauritius.

Too much alcohol in the profile, beginning from the nose to the mouth. A bit of vanilla on the nose and some wood in the mouth are the only taste that have been able to emerge from alcohol. A very disappointing pick from a bottler with usually high standards

A mediocre rum killed of by a terrible finish. The penetration of cheap vanillin already fights the wine cask in the nose and this imbalance only continues in the tasting. Again a surprise at this price point
