Golden brown Smell Sweet with caramel, toffee, forest honey and alcohol. Also fruity aromas, papaya and mango. Taste Sweet, round and full-bodied with lots of honey and molasses, also caramel, toffee, tobacco, wood and alcohol. Finish Medium-long, soft, remains sweet and pleasantly alcoholic with aromas of toffee and wood. Conclusion: I paid 25.30€ for the 0.7-liter bottle in Tenerife. For that, the rum is amazingly good and I agree with everyone who says it is better than the 18-year-old. The rum tastes full-bodied and alcoholic and not like a rum diluted from cask strength to 40%.

The Arehucas 7 is an inexpensive, good cola mixer that I especially enjoyed during my Gran Canaria vacation. Less my thing neat, the 12 goes in the same direction, quite woody, in the smell quite pleasant roasted notes, possibly some tobacco and dark vanilla. Unfortunately, it does not hold up so well in taste, somewhat creamy consistency with lots of wood, a bitter note (tannins?) and relatively alcoholic. I will rather use it as a mixer. Drinks: - Neat: 3/5 - Rum Mule: 4/5
