Best in a cocktail, honestly — several tasters found it too hot and angular to sip neat at 60%. The nose pulls you in with tropical fruit, nail polish and smoke; one member reads it "wie ein Agricole," all grassy and vegetal. Then the palate turns spiky: olive brine, overripe fruit, a bump of alcohol. Loud, unpolished Batavia arrack with all its corners showing.

Full broadside Batavia arrack! Red & green, paprika, olive brine, saffron, bacon, lots of black smoky cardamom from Nepal, overripe tropical fruits, a bit of nail polish and polish esters, awesome stuff. Makes absolutely killer atomic daiquiris! A real bargain for 33€...

And then finally the last two Arracks. Here we mainly have tropical fruits on the nose, a very smoky rum/arrack, with a bit of glue also noticeable. On the palate, that somehow typical Arrack taste, again tropical fruits and very vegetal.

7,4:On the nose, intense, esters and nail polish, sugarcane notes, vegetal(mushrooms, olive), flowery, grassy and herbaceous, sweet, spicy and smoky, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, burnt rubber arises, confectionery, tropical, red and citrus fruits, glue. 7,3:On the palate, the attack is intense, funky with vegetal(mushrooms, olive), flowery, grassy molasses, tropical, yellow fruits, medicinal notes like esters, nail polish and burnt rubber, smoky with bacon, confectionery, spicy with pepper. 6,9:The finish is rather short, dry, still vegetal, fruity, smoky and spicy, salty, burnt, medicinal with polish. #7087 27.07.2026 Running a few samples after a relaxing day at work and celebrating my walk home from work was very fast with a low average heart rate. Listening to some nice trance by Lyktum, Alurian, Coral, Djantrix and Kundalini on Spotify. When looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money and on top of that it does well in cola and sprite. Intense profile with ester, fruits, smoke, sugarcane, herbs and a medicinal touch.

Arrac(k)-Tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. Everything was represented—from smoky to fruity to spicy—sometimes a bit unbalanced, sometimes surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed memorable. A format that’s really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

Once again an outstanding tasting superbly organized by Artur. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arrack. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is always put into it. A real honor to be part of such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. Neutral alcohol at first nose, then immediately fresh fruits, butter and softness. Neutral alcohol on the palate, softness, quite few aromas but yellow fruits. The finish is rather short, few aromas remain after the alcohol, pear, a slight smokiness.

Real powerhouse; on the nose like an Agricole, full fruit bomb and extremely long-lasting but refreshing taste on the tongue. An uncompromising "rum," with all edges and corners hinted at, but then brought together in a benevolent way.

Promising nose, then it becomes very angular and unbalanced. Alcohol dominates. Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur all over, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, everything included. Great journey to this spirit completely unknown to me until now.

A really nice offering of nusa Cana which was not meant for the open market. Really intense nose that looses a bit in the palate. Quite strong and stormy less intense than the ed dekker and in the drink less favourable
