A solid rum, probably best served for a cocktail. The nose starts pretty basic with vanilla and caramel, the taste has chocolate, dried fruits and spice with the spice becoming clearly vanilla in the finish.

I have yet to find a 100% Maggie’s Farm product, but really enjoyed the Hidden Harbor. This is not my style of rum, it’s very round, rich, and sweet (not unnaturally) — but it’s still a solid product and will make a great addition to drinks. I wish it had something punchier from the “long fermentation” they claim, but I get only a hint of ester or funk.
