One taster called this "well balanced and green" — a Bielle agricole from Marie-Galante that leans fruity and rounded rather than grassy and sharp. Plum, cherry and honey lead, with sweet spice, tobacco and a menthol lift from the long sherry-cask finish. At 54.8% the alcohol sits well integrated, and the finish runs long and spiced. Complex without shouting.

Tasted this single cask Bielle Agricole at the Sweden (Stockholm) Rumfest 2024 during an masterclass held by Excellence Rhum. It’s distilled in 2012 and aged in Marie-Galante for 10 years in an ex-Sherry cask before bottled by Excellence Rhum at its natural proof at 54,8% in just 280 bottles. The nose is elegant, spicy, oily and fruity with aroma notes of cigar and cherry. At the palate it’s smooth, delicious and elegant with flavors of fruits, plum and some menthol. The finish is long and delicious with notes of fruits and spices.

A Bielle with a versatile, opulent profile, brilliantly finished in sherry casks. The nose reflects the house's hallmarks: rich, fruity notes of dried fruit (prune), yellow fruit (peach), exotic fruit and candied citrus, accompanied by pastry notes of nougat for optimum roundness. Sweet spices, tobacco and toasty wood are also present to support the olfactory complexity. The attack on the palate is marked by magnificent fruitiness, with hints of redcurrant, cherry, prune, mirabelle plum and candied fruit. The sweet, honeyed side rubs up against the more vegetal, agricultural notes of chamomile and thyme. The sherry cask has an effect, with spices and woodiness. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish has good length, with tannins, agricultural character and sherry cask lingering on the palate. Spices (pepper, vanilla, nutmeg), nuts and dried fruit (grapes) are combined with caramel and toasted notes. A gourmet, expressive cuvée, but at a high price (though still relatively low by regional standards and for this age).

#6373 20.02.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while listening to my new Trance Playlist for 2026. This is a very good BNielle and Excellence Rhum sure knows to pick them. A nice Agricole that is well balanced and green in my mind. Light mint, plum and sugarcane mixes well with the grassy and floral notes.

Boat trip on the Bosporus in Istanbul. Next agricole, this time not so spicy and not woody. Instead, rather a bit sweet, but good. Honey is especially noticeable, but also sugarcane and syrup.

Notes taken at Rhum Fest 2024, Quick notes and a bit heavy palate, sorry :) What we have here is a real success, A rum: well-balanced; powerful, which has kept some of its agricultural character. Finish: a fine length, superior to the 515 on the PX barrel?

More classic bielle profile (compared to the 5-year-old), with fruit and flowers. I like it. Comparing the two, I'd say they're close (you can recognize bielle) and different (one spicier, the other sweeter) at the same time. It's hard to tell them apart...

A very fruity and pastry-like Bielle. A nice selection this rum is, with a very noticeable sherry cask finish that brought a lot of roundness. Is it worth its 185€? Not for me, even if it's very good.

A pleasant tasting but I expected more. I found a nice red fruit side but not mind-blowing. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is just long enough. For my palate, it's a bit expensive for the feeling, despite a very nice execution.

A complex and indulgent rum. A nose of fruits, licorice, honey, nice sweetness. On the palate, it goes in several pleasant and surprising directions: freshness, creaminess. The finish is long and spicy.

Superb nose! Indulgent and surprisingly on blond tobacco, soft on the nose, really complex. Caressing and smooth palate. The tea stands out and the herbal side! Finish with a hint of bitterness.
