#4907 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Round, smooth, sweet, light grass, sugarcane, light citrus, faint wood, light banana. Palate Smooth, sweet, balanced, faint wood, fruits, light citrus, light vegetal, minerals, sugarcane, faint earthy. Finish Medium long, fresh, smooth, round, sweet, light vegetal, light citrus, light peaches, sugarcane. I keep getting surprised at how smooth Neisson releases are and this one is no exception. This is a very nice rum that I think everyone can drink and enjoy.

Tasted this really great Agricole at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s aged for 5 years in Bourbon barrels. The nose is round, smooth, fruity, roasted, sweet, spicy and woody with scents of banana, sugarcane and vanilla. At the palate it’s round, balanced, smooth, vegetal, sweet, fruity, spicy and woody with flavors of honey, maple, raisin, citrus and cinnamon. The finish is long.

Père Labat inherits a Tatanka label, generally linked to Neisson and a guarantee of quality even on young profiles like here. The nose is very round and creamy with beautiful notes of vanilla, sugar cane, and banana, all enhanced by a gourmand bourbon and slightly toasted wood. The nose shows a young rum, which has all the charms of youth but with the experience of the old, it is well crafted. The palate emphasizes even more the sweetness with maple syrup, honey, sugar cane, dried fruits, and citrus. If the spices and wood are rather light, as well as the vegetal greenery, you immediately perceive the creamy, syrupy, and juicy side of the profile. This half-young half-old profile works wonders here, between expression and finesse. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is soft, not very long but sufficient by itself. Between freshness, honeyed sweetness, spicy warmth, and generosity of fruits, this finish keeps all its promises on flavors. A convincing rum, round and very creamy, Père Labat offers something interesting that deserves to be released as cask strength.
