05.04.2024 Mount Gay Extreme Rare online tasting mit Dirk. Retasting and I stick to my initial score. Nose Light, elegant, roasted, wood, sherry, fruity, dried fruit. Palate Smooth, oily, fruity, berries, light coffee, light ginger, light wood, tannins, medium dry,. Finish Medium to long, wood, tannins, balanced, oily, prunes, medium dry. In der Bar „The Rabbit Hole“ in Hamburg verkostet. Tolle Bar, erstklassige Cocktails und ergiebige Karte mit Destillaten. Schlner weicher Rum mit dem sofort erkennbarem Mount Gay Profil. Der Einfluss des PX Fasses ist deutlich spürbar. Sonst viel Toffee, Vanillie und Kokusnuss

Fierce! Despite only 45% such extraordinary aromas on the nose, very round and balanced. In the mouth it continues in the same way, but here the rum weakens due to the low ABV. Nevertheless, delicious aromas. I actually rate the rum at 9/10, but I have to deduct a few points for the 45%. If you want, you can also deduct points for the price going through the roof. Every release in Mount Gay's Master Blender series has become more expensive, regardless of the frame dates. Too bad!

Nail polish, vanilla, sherry, tropical on the nose. Similar to the SherryHampdens. Quite a bit of chocolate. Quite drinkable and powerful for the 45%, has something Guyana-like about it. Good finish too. I (surprisingly) quite like it.

Die Nase ist wirklich einladend, wenn auch relativ süß. Das Sherry Fass ist klar erkennbar, dazu Vanille, Karamell, getrocknete Früchte und weitere Gewürze. Am Gaumen - vielleicht auch der Konkurrenz im Crosstasting geschuldet - ziemlich flach und wässrig, zudem habe ich auch eine dominante seifige/parfümierte Noten am Gaumen wahrgenommen. Insgesamt ganz nett, aber mehr auch nicht. Preislich auch nicht attraktiv.

Really great sipping rum! Positive surprise and not too much sherry influence. Honey-banana with cinnamon in liquid without being too sweet. I would still have liked to try it undiluted but I'm really amazed at how intensely & elegantly balanced and drinkable the rum is despite only 45% overall! 😁

Again a great Master Blender Collection Rum, which you definitely notice the PX influence. Compared to its predecessors, of course, softer and less spectacular, the long aging process levels the flavors a bit. Nevertheless, complex and versatile, if you let him thoughtfully and quite calmly affect him.

Absolut toller Mount Gay Rum. Das typische Profil ist sofort zu erkennen und die Lagerung im Sherry Fass steht ihm gut. Sherry ist sofort in der Nase zu erkennen. Im Geschmack zuerst holzig und würzig. Dann gesellt sich ein leichtes Sherry Aroma dazu ohne jegliche süße. Sehr leckerer Mount Gay für besondere Momente. Als daily sipper zu teuer. Aber 21 Jahre Fassreifunge sind halt nicht umsonst.

Goûté en festival après le XO. Un superbe Mount Gay avec une très bel équilibre. Les arômes sont soutenus, le boisé présent mais pas écrasant. Les notes pâtissières de la Barbades amènent beaucoup de rondeur. Superbe longueur. Très cool !
