Exciting TDL bottling with a clearly different orientation. On the nose, lots of wood, roasted aromas and a dry spice. Fruit and mint rather in the background. On the palate also barrel-influenced with oak, roasted aromas and a bitter structure. Also a somewhat too alcoholic note on the palate and finish. It feels completely different from the newer vintages from the 2001–2009 releases, which often live on mint and fruit. This bottling goes for me taste-wise in an older direction, almost like pre-2000, clearly more wood-heavy and less complex in the typical TDL sense.
