Very nice drinking strength Caroni. Accessible, even though the dirty notes are present - great mix of sweetness and bitter-spicy notes. I like it a lot. Good times when such bottlings were available at affordable prices.

The nose is superb, combining greediness and fruit like caramelized and flambéed bananas, coconut and, in the very light background, a few notes of solvents (tar?) Just right. The palate is well below the nose, though still pleasant, but the reduction takes over. Hints of caramel, spice and wood are present, but very timid. Short finish on spices and wood. A good rum, but far behind the Caroni I've tasted before.

It's very good, with the usual distillery markers, but at 46* it's too reduced for my taste.
