People already into raw agricole and Haitian clairin will find the most here: fresh sugarcane, briny olive, ripe fruit (banana, apricot), citrus and a peppery, warm finish. A couple of tasters flag it as "very warm, maybe even too much" and rustic almost to the point of dirty. Sugarcane-juice pot still at 55.2%, unaged, distinctly funky. Not a smooth-and-easy pour.

#6041 06.12.2025 Time to continue with all my white samples I got this time while listening to some Goa Trance. Nose Fresh, green, sugarcane, light anise, light polish, flowery, citrus. Palate Oily, fresh, sugarcane, citrus, light mineral, peppery, warm, light anise, earthy. Finish Medium to long, peppery, sugarcane, oily, citrus. Empty glass Perfume, citrus, light licorice.

Sure, it's a great Clairin, but for me currently hard to drink among the other awesome rums. You get what you expect, it's very vegetal and floral, you can recognize sugarcane and olive here.

First Clairin I test. This one offers a very surprising nose. Like a nice mix between a pure agricole juice and Jamaican molasses. Fruit (a lot and very ripe), glue, olive, lemon, cane. Very fresh. Impression confirmed on the palate where I precisely find these markers. It's surprising and really well done!

Maybe the most balanced and fruity of the clairins I've tasted. You clearly have a touch of olive and funk, but above all beautiful fruits, maybe apricot and mirabelle in addition to banana, which blend into a vegetal note, and some sweet vanilla flavors. Sprinkled with spices so it doesn't get boring, and bam!

I'm not really a fan of white rum, but this one is quite interesting. The smell of pickled olive is a little confusing at first, but on the palate it's actually very mild and similar to fruit brandy. The finish is slightly sweet and peppery. It's quite ok

Super tasty Clairin Sajous. Mega integrated alcohol. Olive from start to finish with a nice ester note and plenty of fruitiness. The finish also lasts very long. Very tasty as a Ti Punch version.

On the nose it's intense with solvent, mixed and tropical fermented fruits, brine, cane and spices. On the palate it's warm with fermented notes, pepper, citrus, overripe fruits, brine and a background of sweet cane. Compared to 2018 I find it more delicate and less deep. Initial smell of grass, suntan lotion or hand cream. Water white pour. Lots of different perfume vibes in the mouth. Florals, ambergris maybe. Some pepper on the finish. Had a glass of this at Black Jack's.

i cannot stress enough that the olive notes mentioned are not the typical canned/jarred variety. in fact, each of the notes listed above taste as fresh and organic as one could imagine in a spirit. despite what i have seen and heard from others, i do not pick up on many floral or grassy notes, but this is made up for by the creamy, peppery, citrusy garden of tropical arrangements, with a generous herbaceous quality. the finish is long, silky, and evolving. i am struggling to find anything more to ask for.

I remember tasting a Clairin for the first time a few years ago. I didn't like it back then, because my palate wasn't ready for it. Now, I find it very interesting, complex and tasty in the right circumstances. Salty, grassy, meaty, olive,... Interesting stuff.
