"Very woody and oaky, possibly too much" is how one member sums up this 29-year Enmore REV, and the crowd mostly agrees: it's a dark, dry Guyana pot-still leaning hard into oak, licorice, herbs, dark chocolate and a medicinal, cough-syrup edge. The classic REV prune note stays faint. Many call it lovely but a touch one-dimensional and herbal next to its 1994 sister casks.

For me one of the highlights of the German Rum Festivals 2023. Compared to other 1994 Enmore REV it is quite flat, but undoubtedly a sensational bottling that is a lot of fun. Much more complex than the new vintages.

Come on, this should be cask strength! 50% ABV is too watery.. edit- too weak and strange profile... Enmore - drive distillery, now only a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that is very popular. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excite fans of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very intense and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

Nice REV bottling - more on the herbal side with only moderate hints of dried fruits. Side by side vs. others it becomes more obvious that this one is somewhat of an outlier with some herbs I don’t see in other bottlings. Still a very enjoyable dark Guyana profile which I enjoy very much.

After the rum was also talked about here several times in view of the announcement of a new TRC REV 1994, but I only knew the FRC from the "Kirsch ship" at the start of the GRF 2023, I simply had to try it again today. And no, the rum doesn't really cover itself in glory. It seems somehow restrained, it lacks a certain depth. All the typical REV notes are discernible, but nothing more. All right, but one of the REVs has to bring up the rear. It's still at a very high level.

Sneaked into the 94er REV tasting yesterday but was clearly left behind. Very intense mint flavor in the freshly opened bottle. After splitting and good oxidation, the mint is no longer so present and goes into the herbal corner. For me personally, not a rum I would spend 300€ on again.

On the nose quite restrained, on the palate it is not as convincing as the RA' s in my opinion. Today the 2nd time in the glass and my first impression is confirmed: this REV lacks the fruit notes on the palate almost completely, wood, tannins and spice predominate

An extremely dark, woody Enmore, aging here reaches the limit of its aromatic potential. Spices, licorice, bitter chocolate, oak, empyreumatic and roasted notes are omnipresent. Dried fruit and aromatic herbs come through only after long aeration in the glass. A slightly less enchanting profile than other, more concentrated Enmore REV 1994s. The palate confirms the impression of the nose: this is a particularly old Enmore, woody and tannic, with leather, bitter cocoa and smoky, toasty notes. Spices add further warmth to an already dark profile. Dried fruit, caramel and floral notes lend a certain suavity to the juice. The alcohol is well-integrated, even if age has not dulled the rum's liveliness. The finish is long, dry and tannic, with the spicy woodiness as intense as ever and dark markers of dark chocolate, coffee, nuts and malty, smoky notes. On the verge of burnt caramel. An intense, heavy rum, a little one-dimensional but captivating.

Surprisingly smoky, almost peaty. The plum notes are still present, but already much less present than in the somewhat younger bottled REV representatives of the 1994 vintage. For me, probably something like the single malt among the REVs, for what its worth. No absolute REV top class, but that does not change the undoubtedly existing class.

#4176 This is a great release though the price ia a bit high I love it. Kind of heavy wood without it being too dominant and the on top nice fruits and this nice medicinal touch. The world's best but not cheapest cough syrup I'd say 😊 Very long finish.

An absolute blast. On the nose, you get wood and herbs. On the palate, the same. At first, it comes across very woody, almost too woody. After that settles, the herbs come through towards the finish.

Tasted together with the 1994 REVs from Rum Cask and Rum Artesanal (both as 2nd Edition). Compared to the two, noticeably less dried fruit, more herbs, wood, spices. Tasty, but I like the other two better. REV tasting of the Franconian Tasting Gang November 2024: Today I like it a bit better and on its own it is still a very good rum. But together with the three from Rum Cask, the Nobilis and the Greenheart, it has to rank at the very end.

Compared directly to the S.B.S. 94er REV this one comes fresher with more herbal/floral notes and less dried plum and roasted aromas. Alcohol also very well integrated here as with the S.B.S.

I have to adjust my rating once again. This time I tasted it sober and not after 10 other rums. Compared to the first RA, it has nowhere near as much plum and is already borderline bitter on the finish.

A nice, though not very intense REV. Nose: spicy-woody-roasty, initially with quite a bit of pencil lead and some soap, almost medicinal. Quickly replaced by herbs, molasses, and licorice. Spicy cedarwood and a fine orange note with cassis and dried plum round it off. There are more intense REVs, but this one is nice too. 8.6 Palate: also initially pencil lead and soap, before herbs and sour-licorice molasses take over. Feels pleasantly roasted, toasted, and slightly malty-nutty with some nutmeg. Tasty, though not top-class. A REV is always an experience. 8.8

Well... the more I try it the better. Lots of wood, licorice and a slight medicinal note create an awesome taste. Tannins also linger. I could get used to REV... Only the price I find not appropriate. 200 would be ok.

Really soft Enmore! Nice malt, blackberry, coffee, bitter orange notes. Very tasty and fruity spicy, just in my opinion only almost reaches the level of the other rev sister barrels. But it's tasty anyway.

I love these heavy dark rums from Guyana and this delicious REV is no exception. Maybe a bit too herb and spice-forward for me to rank it among the absolute top tier, as the fine dried fruits remain only hinted at, but still a great tasting experience.

Small REV tasting. Slightly musty or wet wood on the nose. This is not recognizable in the others. In my opinion also the least fruity. Still a great rum. Compared to the Greenheart and the Artesanal, however, it clearly falls short due to less complexity starting from the nose.

Beautiful nose, in the taste then unfortunately somewhat disappointing. Very herbaceous, woody and a bit too bitter for me. The alcohol is also not optimally integrated. Do not misunderstand, it is a very good rum but with the long storage and the price I expected more.

Beautiful REV! I do not like the herbal note so (therefore also applies to me SWR > REV > KFM). That note is not as pronounced here. Nicely balanced and drinkable. For REV purists maybe nothing, but I like it. In direct comparison to the Nobilis 2 points ahead. For 299€ already almost ne consideration worth.

For me, one of the weaker REVs, where the low ABV already leads to a slight wateriness in the mouthfeel. Without a doubt a good rum, but for the money there are significantly better on the market.

I like very much because a great interplay of rum and wood. Very dark with nice mocha and coffee note. In addition, dried fruits and herbs. Great rum. Absolutely round and easy to drink. But does not come to the RA 94er ran there. Still very tasty and great.
