Here's the surprise: for a 15-17 year El Salvadoran rum at 44.2%, the nose is faint and the body reads light. Several tasters wished for more punch. What you do get is soft and fruity — vanilla, dried figs, sherry and young oak, with a light minerality some credit to the quartz filtering. Pleasant and gently sweet, just not a heavyweight.

Rather weak on the nose, although it got a few extra percent. Wood and sherry influences are dominant on nose, mouth and finish. Additionally there are spices, dried fruits and various sweets. Interesting aspect on the nose: pencil shavings.

Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei der Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. Intensive noten nach Madeira und virgin oak, Sesamgebäck, Pfeffriger und trockener wie der alux und schöne Noten nach getrocknetener feige und leicht mineralisch durch die Quarz Filterung. Der alux gefällt mir insgesamt besser!

#4246 09.09.2023 I got 6 secret samples from a friend as a blind tasting and that has been a lot of fun spread over two evenings. First off, the price to quality is pretty good. Once rested it's a fruity profile with nice spices and very light wood. The palate i light and I would have loved a higher ABV. The finish is medium long and also kind of light. The empty glass has some mineral and chocolate notes.

Quite a light nose: sweetish, vanilla, fruity, a little mineral. Then on the palate a somewhat stronger sweetness (not too sweet) with vanilla, fruits.. I found it surprisingly pleasant.

An der Nase ist nicht wirklich etwas stark auszumachen. Geschmack kommt dafür sehr weich und fruchtig, mineralisch daher und bleibt mit einer leichten Schärfe sehr lang im Mund erhalten. Für den regulären Preis wohl etwas zu teuer, aber da es den Rum mit Aktionsrabatt für 55€ im Supermarkt gab bin ich wirklich zufrieden damit.
