Pencil shavings, tobacco and dark chocolate lead, with grassy cane and hazelnut underneath and a menthol edge on the finish. At 59% it's punchy and dry — dig your nose deep in the glass and it opens. On the nose: This was interesting. At first very woody and medicinal. After sitting in the glass this rum opens up, but the key is to take your nose almost inside the glass to get the notes. Light pencil shavings, light tobacco, light leather. Hints of agricole grass. Interesting pack of notes. Taste: Intense, grassy and alcoholic upfront but it get mellow. Once you you work this rum in your mouth you get light roasted mocha, nutty, cacao and pencil shavings. Little bit of those grassy notes in the background. Bittle bit of menthol notes. Could be more balanced. Finish: Herbal, eucalyptus notes. Light mocha and cacao after that. Finishes dry. Medium finish. At first on the nose this rum felt too woody and so far aged agricole rums have been too woody for my liking. I suggest that you dig your nose deep in the glass and then work this rum in your mouth to really enjoy it.

Harter Fasseinschlag, der nicht viel von diesem Isautier übrig gelassen hat. Holz, Bleistiftspähne, Tabak, Kräuter, Schokolade, das kommt alles vom Fass. Wenn dann noch etwas Zitrusfrüchte dabei. Im Mund setzt sich die würzige, holzige und rauchige Palette fort. So gut wie der europäischen Varianten finde ich die US-Versionen nicht.

Angenehme Agricole-Stilistik mit Haselnuss, Kakao und pflanzlichen Tönen. Das Fass zeigt sich, auch die Würze ist präsent. Aromatisch leider etwas zu wenig vielschichtig für eine höhere Bewertung, bewegt sich aber zweifelsohne im sehr guten Bereich.

Caramel and I kind of get some pencil shavings or woodruff on the nose. The mouth is really pretty wild. Tangerine, scotch bonnet pepper, tobacco. It comes off really warm. Some cacao. Pours dark copper. Almost a bitter, barky finish. Long finish. Sample shared by AlexD.
