Sweet-tooths and dessert-drink fans are the natural audience here. This German bottling from the Wild distillery leans hard on vanilla, toffee, honey and a citrus-peel edge, with caramel and a hint of banana underneath. Several tasters found the spicing so heavy it stopped reading as rum at all — one said blind he'd have called it a vanilla liqueur. At 42% it stays soft and syrupy-sweet.

This is "interesting." A rum so heavily spiced that I might not even have recognized it as rum anymore. Vanilla, vanilla, and more vanilla. In between a hint of orange and everything sweet. Caramel, honey, toffee and syrup. Whoever likes it should drink it, I won't be a fan. Just please don't say this is still rum in any way.

Now it gets wild. A spiced rum from the Wild distillery. If it said "boiling" on the bottle, I wouldn't have recognized the base as rum here. Very heavily flavored with vanilla. Some spices, but not really definable, and something with lemon. More like a little liqueur.

Very sweet nose with lots of toffee, honey, etc. On the palate also very sweet, toffee to cotton candy, yet slightly alcoholic. Fruity components like banana that unfortunately feel quite muted.
