Another blind buy on Ebay. I've had a few Arnisser's and found them quite good for the price. This one is sold to me as a Trinidad rum, but unfortunately I have zero associations with that. I could swear I have a Guyana in the glass here, especially Port Mourant. The nose shows dried fruits, the sweetness of cream toffee and chocolate, and that slight mustiness of gauze bandages. The palate is quite alcoholic, 69% is hard to hide. Also quite sweet, with burnt barrel and spice, plus chocolate, all somehow a bit meaty. This flows into the finish and leaves a furry mouthfeel. Not a bad rum, but not what I expected from Trinidad. Maybe they sold them a wrong barrel. 😀
