Disappointing again for the price and vintage. Otherwise, it reminds me more of a 2006 Diamond with lots of sweetness and herbs than a Caroni.

... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad, producing during its greatest glory a rum that was added in a ratio of 1:10 to the naval blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000 the distillery ended production and was closed. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. And interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums "you need to try before you die." I recommend it, Caroni is truly a unique rum.

Color straw yellow Aroma sweetness, cinnamon, nutmeg, spices, hint of technical notes Taste mustiness, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, wood barrel, alcohol well integrated Finish medium length mustiness, wood, barrel, spices, nutmeg Unusual Caroni profile, in a blind tasting I certainly wouldn't have guessed, I'd rather have guessed Guyana or some Clarendon.
