"One hell of a Hampden," as one taster put it — and the reviews back it up. Expect a full basket of overripe pineapple and banana, big ester and glue, with a sour-fermented edge. The 12-year tropical maturation adds caramel, custard and light pastry. A few notice more sweetness than usual, though most call the alcohol well hidden despite the 63%.

9,1:On the nose, esters, solvents, glue, fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red, citrus fruits, briny olive, creamy, some vinegar, roasted wood notes like nuts, pastry, marzipan, spicy with allspice, some rubber, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, cream toffee, meringue, caramelized, vanilla and dairy are out, slight smokiness and hints of dried fruits, green apple, coconut. 9:On the palate, the attack is concentrated, balanced with esters, rubber, overripe, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red and citrus fruits, some candied, later litchi, raisins, minty, grassy molasses, vegetal with briny olive, dark with black tea, hints of licorice, as the wood is roasted with cream toffee, nuts, smoky and spicy.When the rum is well rested, creamy dairy notes come out, phenol and vinegar, metallic patina. 9,1:The finish is long, balanced, dry and tannic, with notes from the palate lingering on, slightly mineral, dirty. Everything you would expect from hampden! Lots of ripe fruit, a fermented and sometimes sour side and in this rum an unusually sweet side of citrus meringue and custard that gives balance to the whole rum!

Really strong ester fruit nose ... Lots of varnish and solvent. Banana, papaya Anna's honeydew melon fermented fruit salad . The mouth flows slowly and then more and more violently with a lot of ester and very ripe tropical fruits wow ... Slightly dry, no off-notes ... Insanely intense and round ... Wonderful. The stuff my dreams are made of ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Mai Tai : 5/5 no more words needed 😊

Cedro Velier Series Tasting: A Hampden as it’s meant to be. The fruit basket of all kinds of overripe tropical fruits and esters/glue excites you from nose to finish. Absolutely round and alcohol perfectly integrated!

The nose gives you exactly what you expect from a 12 years old tropical Hampden marked C<>H with loads of fruits and esters. The palate is surprisingly less extreme with sweet notes like vanilla and caramel on top of the typical profile. A very good rum from which I really like the twist between nose and palate.

A great start, you can hardly say more. I've already written everything about Hampden being convincing. Overripe tropical fruits, especially pineapple and banana, also esters and glue. Alcohol not worth mentioning.

Exquisite blend of esters offering fully ripe tropical fruits of pineapple, mango, banana, and passion fruit as well as lime and lemon. Added to that are caramel, cookie dough, cinnamon, vanilla pastry, and oak notes in excellent balance. A top Hampden.

Beautiful tropical matured Hampden. Alcohol is very well integrated. Very fruity, esters, mint. It has quite a lot of sweetness and could be a little better balanced. But that's complaining at a high level.

Admittedly a very strong Hampden. He really punches you right in the face. I'm really into that. All the aromas are very strong on the palate and it lingers in the mouth for a long time.

An absolute poem from a Hampden. Strongly reminiscent of the 2010 Warren Khong but with more barrel influence after 12y tropical maturation. Overripe pineapple and banana, intense esters and tasty sour cherry with caramelized meringue meet a good amount of glue and light pastry and brioche notes. The alcohol is well integrated and the finish is long and intense.
