"You can taste the citrus," as one member puts it, and that runs through the whole glass — marmalade, green apple, a bit of vanilla, all riding a big 62.2% wave. This is cask-strength Cuban column-still from an off-the-radar distillery, so expect a fairly light, round profile that some find flat and a couple find just plain hot and sour. Mainly alcoholic and sour. Unfortunately a disappointment for me. Probably one of the worst Cuban single casks for me so far, sorry but this one just isn't fun for me personally...

Relatively subtle profile; oak wood, caramel notes, slightly citrusy-alcoholic notes. Overall comparatively round, but flat in the aroma spectrum. However, I am and remain no fan of the Cubans from the post-1990s era.

28.11.2017 Meeting up at a friend's house, everyone bringing a bottle. Pretty surprised that there were 3 Cadenhead's in the pot. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Intense, wood, light roasted, grass, cherry, spice, citrus. Palate Intense, wood, roasted, lightly oily, berries, light floral, spice, light caramel. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, banana, spice, caramel. Extra note Needs to rest for a long while to settle down properly.

Bottle An interesting release overall but not captivating. Sweet rum. Honeyed. With apples and relatively delicate fruits. Sugary but not an added sugar. Overall, I liked it; for its price, it offers something quite different from Cuba.
