Expect classic Uitvlugt pencil shavings and cedar, herbal molasses and caramel up front, then anise takes over hard on the tongue, joined by espresso, dark chocolate and a touch of burnt and bitter. Several note the cask feels light for 31 years, and the alcohol nips above its strength.

A Uitvlugt that does not show the years it bears! The influence of the cask is really minimal with an important preponderance of anise throughout the tasting! The flavor profile is a bit flat but still remains pleasant to drink!

9:On the nose, herbaceous, flowery molasses with pencil shavings, sweet with honey, cedar wood, toasted with caramel, various fruits like green, banana, lime, mandarine, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, rhubarb, pineapple and hints of raspberry join, variety of spicy tones like anise, cinnamon, vanilla, the molasses is grassy, Demerara sugar is obvious. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is green with herbaceous, flowery, candied molasses, toasted wood with caramel, Demerara sugar, espresso, quite spicy with anise, ginger, vanilla, cinammon, slightly salty and fruity with green fruits, coconut, citrus and cherry, some medicinal notes like polish are also there. 8,7:The finish is long, balanced, dry and tannic, barrel impact is strong, with toasted oak notes like caramelized Demerara sugar, cream toffee, espresso, spicy with anise, vanilla, ginger, fruity with citrus, yellow fruits, pineapple, cherry, as the molasses is herbaceous, with hints of pencil shavings..

Und dann einen uralter Enmore, direkt als solcher erkennbar Dank der Midrigkeit, Weltklasse. Florale Nase, Kräuter und Bleistiftspähne haben wir hier. Am Gaumen ein Mix aus Vanille, Kräutern, Röstigkeit und Verbranntheit.

Serie Cedro Silver Seal Tasting: Die Nase super fruchtig mit unterschiedlichsten Früchten, etwas Holz und Karamell. Im Gaumen ist die Frucht erstmal weg - starker Anis, dunkle Schokolade, Espresso und starke Röstaromen überwiegen hier, daneben leichtes Kirscharoma. Abgang ähnlich.

Der letzte der Serie Cedro von Silver Seal. Leider konnte auch dieser mich nicht restlichen überzeugen, dass bei mir ein Fomo ausgelöst wurde. Mir ein wenig zu kräutrig. Als Fazit gut, aber nicht überzeugend.

This overpriced series is quite an unicorn. Tasting it is prett difficult so I'm happy despite the price. Demerara 18 was a great Diamond, here we have what I think is a Port Mourant. Pencil shavings, aniseed and overripe peaches are the main traits of this rum, which is grassy on the nose but quite dry when you drink it, with a dusty feeling. The alcool bits a bit too much compared to the ABV.

I have always a problem with Uits (and light coloured Guyanas overall) that I love the nose and dislike the taste, same here. On the nose continental yellow pulp fruits, young wood, typical Uit pencils, older books, touch of licorice. Taste spicy, earthy, herbal, bittery and touch burnt. No my kind of taste. Its like it hasn't been in the cask for so long. Shame.
