Sipped neat, this drinks nothing like a typical Foursquare — pot-still only, continental-aged, and members keep reaching for Worthy Park or a light Guyana to describe it. Grilled pineapple and coconut sit next to young wood, herbs and a slight medicinal edge. One taster nailed a "Port Mourant Light" feeling. At 56% it's a touch sharp-edged, more curiosity than comfort pour.

8,6:On the nose, smoky, burnt oak, nutty, spicy, peat, sweet, grilled pineapple, banana, coconut, some citrus fruits, herbal, flowery molasses, burnt rubber, esters, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, sourdough bread, cream toffee, butterscotch, yeast and maple are out, allspice and pears. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is strong with smoky, burnt wood notes like nuts, coffee, caramelized burnt sugar, crème brûlée, bacon, spicy with vanilla, allspice, anise, as barrel impact is obvious, fruity with citrus fruits, pears, grilled pineapple, banana, coconut, as the molasses is flowery, peated, earthy with tobacco, root. 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry, chemical with phenol, medicinal with rubber, fruity with green fruits, pineapple, banana, the wood is toasted with nuts, coffee, burnt sugar, spicy and the molasses flowery, peated, herbaceous, earthy with tobacco. First time tasting a continental-aged foursquare..and I must say I was a little disappointed! It is much more like a good whiskey than a rum, and maybe whoever bottled it reminded them of just that! It sadly lacks all the flavors that distinguish foursquare!

Ne der ist irgendwie nicht so super. Nase ist noch recht okay, Ananas und Kokosnuss kommen hier neben etwas jungem Holz und Kräutern zum Vorschein. Am Gaumen finde ich ihn zu scharfkantig. Lakritze, Kokosnuss und Fass haben wir hier.

Serie Cedro Silver Seal Tasting: a FSQ!? Taste-wise, everyone would probably guess a WP here. Interesting what continental aging has done to the base product. On the nose also interesting yeast notes; reminds a bit of sourdough bread.

Also, ich weiß ja nicht wirklich, aber dieser Foursquare aus der Serie Cedro war mal so gar kein Burner. Gesehen an der Menge der Foursquare die ich bis jetzt im Glas hatte, kann er nicht mal im Mittelfeld mithalten.

Not the usual Foursquare, so I do not want to compare it to usual Seale's rums. Only pot still means a whole different world. Infact this rum is citrusy and herbal, yet really thick, with a slight medicinal touch that reminds me of a low esters Jamaica. Not good in the usual terms, but really interesting to see what foursquare do when it comes to just pot still. The result is pretty light on the nose but interesting when drinking, where there is some roasted ans smoky notes but also something sweet like honey and aniseed

Weakest of the three Silver Seal Cedro. Not your typical FSQ, far from it. Nose is fruity, but more continental than tropical, younger wood. With aeration develops touch of citrusy notes. Taste reminds me of light Guyanas, spicy, licorice.

Eher ungewohntes Foursquare-Release mit kräutrig-erdigem Einschlag. Leichtes Karamell, etwas Holz, Mineralik und Zitrusfrüchte. Hat für mich aufgrund der genannten Aromen etwas von einem „Port Mourant Light“ Profil, wenngleich der Rum deutlich lieblicher ausfällt als die kontinental gelagerten PMs aus den 2000er Jahren. Foursquare in ungewöhnlich, aber unverändert hochwertig.
