Manabi Yaku Wari Untamed Rum from Ecuador
People who like an oaky, dried-fruit cane-juice rum and don't mind a savory streak are the audience here. Seven years of tropical aging give nutty, sweetish dried fruit and lots of oak, but the thing everyone fixates on is a strong Maggi-style savory note on the nose and palate. One taster loved it enough to order a second bottle; others just smell bouillon.
The community says- Nutty dried fruit
- Honeyed oak
- But: Strong Maggi/savory note

How does Manabi Yaku Wari Untamed Rum from Ecuador taste?
Aggregated from 19 community reviews.
Oaky dried-fruit rum with a savory Maggi note Genuinely divisive. Fans get nutty dried fruit and honeyed oak from a cask-strength Ecuadorian pot still, but several tasters smell and taste mainly Maggi and bail out.

Nose : Very virgin cask forward, very similar to the Mhoba bushfire. Taste : dried fruit and tons of oak but not the bitter, dry side, more the nutty, sweet. Conclusion: single cask, non chill filtered, natural colour, 7 yo tropical aging, 50 plus abv for 55€ so for me it's good value. I like using it for my homemade blends
