Chocolate-and-coffee fans who like a Trinidad on the drier side will click with this one. Expect cocoa, hazelnut and creamy cappuccino up front, then it turns woody and spicy with pepper and a bitter-tea edge on the finish. Several tasters call it an "untypical TDL" with unusual chocolate depth. At 56.5% it bites a little, and a few wish it were less sweet.

Oh well, I wasn't expecting that. Very tasty Transcontinental Line here in any case. We have some caramel and cocoa on the nose. On the palate there's vanilla and hazelnut, as well as wood and cappuccino.

Strong Trinidad rum with clear, spicy structure. On the nose dry fruits, some vanilla and a fine glue note. On the palate it shows a rather tart profile with wood, spice and slight bitterness, complemented by subtle fruit in the background. The alcohol feels present but not disturbing. Overall a solid, rather dry Trinidad with good intensity but lacking a bit of depth.

On the nose, I definitely have to think of mild Cointreau. In the taste then rather coffee and Christmas cookies from the Caribbean (coconut). Rather atypical TDL with neat chocolate.

Compared to the Rum Runner Trinidad, which I had in my glass at the same time, it is much more pleasant and more clearly Trinidad. But also not a real winner, there are better bottlings from 2006.

delicious, relaxed Sipping TDL, light mint freshness in the background and in addition creamy cappuccino, milk chocolate, brownies with blackberries and black pepper and some orange peel and neat barrel. First sweet then dry and very creamy.

OK, no flaws but not really inspiring as well, would not have been able to attribute this to Trinidad, which can be considered a good thing: I do not like the products of Trinidad Distillers that much. A bit shy on the nose.

#6741 03.05.2026 Enjoying a few more samples while watching Gold Rush on Max. Price to quality is pretty decent on this release in my mind. A nice nutty rum with some coffee, chocolate, caramel and light honey and spices.

Color: AmberSmell:Sweet with a surge of vanilla at first sniff.Creamy ... cream soda, caramel as well as orange peel and orange blossom.Taste:Very sweet in the mouth, then becomes creamy and bites as you swallow.Very spicy hot with vanilla, wood, pepper and ginger.Finish:Dry, spicy and woody with caramel.Bitter tea and old wood in the finish.Conclusion:Relatively simple, straightforward and without major weaknesses. 83 points

Alcohol not as well integrated as I think, comes across relatively sharp for the relatively low %. Somehow too sweet for me. Still available 6 years after release at the price of the time with a relatively small production run 🙄.

Read full review ›For me, it is definitely a very atypical representative of Trinidad, but pleasantly tuned, I think it will fit perfectly for the upcoming summer. What I have a bit of a problem with is the price, I don't know if I would want to pay 2,500 CZK for such a rum, personally rather less - 1,500 - 1,800 yes - also why I'm glad I chose just a sample on Dramroom.cz.
