Cherry runs the show here — several tasters call it almost candied, "so sweet like a Piemont cherry" — backed by dark berries, licorice and a woody, spicy frame. Underneath sits a dirtier Trinidad side of solvent, tar and rubber that reminded one taster of a Caroni. At 60.4% the alcohol lands surprisingly well-integrated. A 14-year pot-still cane-juice rum for people who like their fruit loud and a little industrial.

A Ten Cane with the classic, but strongly pronounced cherry aroma, almost as sweet as a Piedmont cherry. There are also a few spicy, woody aromas that provide the necessary counterbalance. I like it

So I don't know if Trinidad and I will become very good friends. This one is also very characterized by trigemenal notes, solvents and tar. Maybe my taste is just too far removed from the masses... The whole thing is too pungently austere for me. The only thing I really like is the finish.

8,6:On the nose, solvents and strong barrel impact are the first thing we notice, with cherry, citrus fruits roasted wood notes like leather, nuts, spice, molasses with tobacco and perfume. On aeration, a strong wave of fruits is out, like berries, plum, red fruits, dried apricots and currants, hints of melon.Hints of menthol arise a bit later and strong sweet confectionery with pastry and fruitcake. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is rather sweet, less balanced, slightly tannic, it is quite spicy with allspice, with roasted wood notes like caramel, nuts and fruity with cherry, dried fruits, dark berries, grapes, citrus fruits and plums, as dirty, industrial notes like tar and rubber also make their mark, with metallic patina.Vanilla, licorice and vegetal molasses show, when the rum is well oxidized. 8,4:The finish is more round, the barrel impact is strong,with dry&tannic, slightly tarry, smoky, winterly, vegetal notes with hints of pencil shavings, fruits in tropical direction, berries and cherries..

#5323 16.05.2025 Running some samples while watching a program about poaching rhino's. Nose Fresh, wood, plum spice, light tobacco, berries, light cherry, faint nutts. Palate Oily, balanced, light plum, naturally sweet, wood, light tannins, light nutts, dried fruit. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, berries, light tannins, light earthy. Empty glass Light leather, light chocolate, light cherry, prunes.

My first Tencane. I like it, lots of red berries, cherry very dominant. Also lots of vanilla and a little wood. Alcohol very well integrated. In terms of design, I always like the bottlings from TB-YR very much.

Cologne-Bonn rum tasting: extremely positive surprise; could have been a Caronib on the nose with light tar & gum notes. Also cherry, dark berries, barrel and roasted aromas. Alcohol very well integrated.

Vegetal nose with wild honey. Toasted vanilla, berries and fruits. Interesting cherry flavor on the aftertaste.
