Softer than you'd expect from a 58% Hampden — this LROK dials the funk back and lets elegance lead. Banana over pineapple, discreet oak, light ester and a few floral notes that don't usually survive the Hampden markers. Several French tasters call it a restrained Jamaican with real length, the alcohol nicely tucked in. One dissenter finds it sharp and young, more continental Worthy Park than classic Hampden.

#4657 16.03.2024 just relaxing with John Wick 4 and a few rums 😊 Nose Light roasted wood, fruity, light ester, light grass. Palate Warm, light roasted wood, fruity, faint grass, light ester, faint chocolate. Finish Long, fruity, light roasted wood, faint floral notes. The empty glass has some light marzipan, chocolate and faint olive.

Disappointing continental LROK that is rather sharp and young in taste. Reminds me more of a lot of young continental Worthy Parks than the classic Hampden profile. Quickly forgotten and a sample is enough.

Excellent tasting evening at Bar 1802 in Paris, great advice and great discussions! It's quite a slap in the face here, with a Jamaican that's wise but not lacking in character. The funk is there, the fruit is there, the wood is discreet but heady... first Samaroli and not disappointed!

A nose that gives off the distillery's usual markers. This time, I find more banana than pineapple. We must be on an intermediate mark. On the palate, the attack is lively. Fruity and acidic. Woody and spicy. Then, very quickly, the rum becomes rounder, wiser and warmer. Really pleasant. A great success.

Jamaican finesse for a change. Long on the palate. The integration of alcohol here is also top-notch... The distillery's hallmarks are present, but with less intensity and more elegance. There are even a few floral notes here and there.
