"Sample with the point "by Andi blindverkostet. I'm not going to beat around the bush, I'm just going to say it straight away: this is the new SWR 2001 from TRC in a glass. 😉 Right, Andi? Please solve it! 😊 Edit after next sip: I get fickle about the strength on the palate but the smoothness on the nose and switch to the SWR 2001 from 1423 (S.B.S), specifically the Kirsch bottling at 54.1%. On the other hand, the coffee note is too weak ... And this is not a 90-point rum either ... Damn, now I'm lost after all. I'll stick with SWR 2001 - solid, but by no means spectacular. Andi? Well, at least I was right about SWR. But what worries me is a) that I hadn't blindly rated the rum with 91 points before and b) where this rating has gone now.

10.02.2024 tasting event at the Nobilis Warehouse, Haderslev. Retasting and I really love the overall profile. ----------------------- #4232 03.09.2023 this was a nice blind tasting where I saw the black Glencairn tasting glasses for the first time. This is a great release. Intense yet extremely well balanced once rested. ABV and wood are amazingly well integrated. Medium fruity with nice spices and a warm oily palate. Draws really nice and slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has light mint and caramel.

A beautiful nose, with vegetal and spicy notes, cedar wood (cigar box) and roasted meat. The palate is a little acqueous (reduction?) at first, but the aromas of wood, molasses and toast soon take possession of the palate with great assurance and an interesting bitterness. The finish lingers on bitterness and wood, leaving the other aromas a little to the fore. A very fine Skeldon, surely excellent on its own, but which suffers from direct comparison with other representatives of this prestigious mark.

Wow! A killer. After the marathon for everyone at the Olympic Games, I wanted a drink that would make an impact without being too strong. We're there, coffee, spices, dark chocolate caramel, ultra well-integrated alcohol. Warm and oily, perfect for a good old-fashioned wake-up call :)

Buuuh this is a really nice Rum 😌 Delicious, complex and heavy 😊 I definitely like the change from sweet milk chocolate in the nose to a more bitter dark chocolate on the palate. The intensive coffee/mocha notes gives is a heavy and creamy taste. The finish is quite long but more on the bitter, herb side.👌🏻

The nose I find really good! The palate is nice and round, but I lack a little complexity. Finish is medium long.

A Skeldon of the heavy, powerful kind. Woody, spicy, mocha-like aromas and dark chocolate predominate. But the whole thing is so well balanced that it is neither tiring nor bitter. A cross-comparison with the S.B.S is still to come. I like this Nobilis bottling very much

Gigantic nose of caramelized coconut, banana, chocolate and citrus fruits. The taste doesn't quite live up to expectations and is rather bitter, woody and leathery. On the other hand, the finish has really lovely notes of orange peel, coconut and milk chocolate!

85 points. I had slightly higher expectations for this rum and have a preference for the SBS Skeldon releases. The nose is pretty promising with vanilla, coffee, dried fruit and milk chocolate standing out. On the palate there’s an addition of burnt sugar but the rum misses a certain complexity. Still a very good rum though.

Nice bottling. Palate lacks a bit of power and depth. Still a very well rounded sipper sporting dark notes and dried fruits. Well balanced with very noticeable wood influence without being overaged or bitter in any way.

Nobilis tries its hand at Diamond in the style of Skeldon. The nose offers a lovely heavy sweetness with roasted wood, milk chocolate, coffee (gourmet cappuccino style) but also brown notes of burnt sugar (see cola), nuts, dried fruit (prune, grape) spices (cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, light licorice), leather and glue. It's rich, dark and enticing all at once. The palate falls slightly short of expectations. The attack is very smooth and rich, rather supple but lacking depth and complexity. Dark notes dominate, leaving no room for doubt (wood, roasted notes, leather, spices, licorice, dark chocolate, cappuccino coffee, burnt sugar, nuts, dried fruit). All the same, there's that Demerara elegance and sweetness that make this rum extremely drinkable, with very well-integrated alcohol. The finish is not the longest. It's more bitter, concentrated on aromas of oak, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, spices and burnt sugar. Some dried fruit and slightly herbaceous notes are also present. This Skeldon may not be the most transcendent of rums, but it's still an excellent drinking rum, a little expensive but very pleasant.

What a horny nose! Glue, chocolate, coconut and banana, here the full clavitur is played! Great complexity, as one is accustomed to from good Demeraras. On the palate, unfortunately, a bit weaker, less complex and quite woody. The alcohol to this surprisingly present, overall much weaker than the nose, dienlich could enjoy for hours. All in all, however, a good bottling of a anyway very tasty mark!

On the nose solvent, mocha, dark chocolate and abundant blackened banana peel. In the mouth it stings once briefly (but pleasantly) and then it continues with abundant chocolate (100%) and coffee grounds. Dry, warm. Very long finish. A very nice, very drinkable Demerara. I have not had a better continental aged one yet. From the flavor profile, it squints to the mature (and very expensive) grandes from the 60s and 70s, but I have not had too many of them.😀😀 Very good!😁
Review by Jakob
Shows plenty of sweetness from chocolate, caramel and vanilla sugar. The maturation brings a pleasant heaviness to the profile, with wood, coffee, orange peel and dark spices adding aromatic variety. Despite the wide range of aromas, I find the overall complexity a little lacking, with a somewhat dominant tendency towards a heavy café au lait sweetness. But it remains a very good rum that is a pleasure to drink.
Review by Andi
