Bielle Brut de fût 2016
Most tasters land in the same happy place on this one: a fruity, gourmand Bielle agricole with honey, apricot and roasted nuts up front, then a woody, dark-chocolate palate that turns spicy and long. A "rond et gourmand" style, as one member put it. At 54.2% the heat is mostly well folded in, though a couple of drinkers found it a touch too sharp on the wrong night.

Shows impressive character. Ripe wood, vanilla, dried fruits, cocoa, and spicy sugarcane notes are intense and harmonious. The high alcohol is present but supports the flavors instead of overpowering them. A powerful, complex rum.

Too much alcool there, bringing to sharp edges that made the dram near to unpleasant. A pity because behind the alcool there is something going on, but not enough to give a good score. Maybe with some oxyidation there is room for improvement.

Here is a delicious Bielle from 2016 with a beautiful nose consisting of spices. But also smells very fresh and honey is also recognizable. Very woody and barrel-like on the palate. Nuts and dark chocolate are also recognizable here.
Review by TheJackDrop
Ah that's very good! Right away you notice a powerful and spicy Bielle, the nose does not deceive, nor does the mouth, very fruity, woody, spicy but a bit hot for this alcohol degree. Long finish. Very nice.

Beautiful complexity! I like it a lot!

#5626 26.08.2025 Relaxing with this nice bielle while watching TV. Nose Wood, light roasted, light olive, light earthy, light citrus, faint chocolate. Palate Oily, light wood, light roasted, light olive, faint salt, citrus, light floral, light vegetal. Finish Long, wood, citrus, light chocolate, light floral, light olive. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, citrus, light olive. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

A very good Bielle, greedy and fruity. Nice fruity notes on the nose, which then develop on the palate. Fruit, citrus and exotic wood flavors follow one another. The alcohol is well integrated, I recommend it.

🥃 Bielle 2016-2023 BDF (54.2%): A very pleasant rum with a fresh and spicy nose, enhanced by a touch of honey. On the palate, intense woodiness and tannins dominate, with notes of dark chocolate. It held up well despite a strong tasting just before!

The nose is soft and sweet (pastry and hazelnut) with fruit and a woody undertone. The palate is full-bodied with dried dates, young wood, pepper, leather, with a long, lingering finish and a small sour note.
Review by Santo
I love Bielle, and this one is fruity and indulgent as I like them, with a little sour candy side. A delight! I find it even better than the BDF 2014 which was already very good.

Tasted at the Whisky & Rum aan Zee festival IJmuiden 2023. Very classic, powerful Bielle. Very tasty.

Bielle shows exceptional consistency on its 7-year vintage. Just at opening it's intoxicating, it tickles the nostrils. Once in the mouth, the power is confirmed but with finesse and superb aromatic balance that lasts. An enchanting juice that remains a safe bet to indulge in great old agricoles without breaking the bank.

Beautiful golden color. Very complex on the nose. Nutty, spices, licorice, cookie dough or biscuits, almonds, lemon peel, some dried fruit. Good strength. Despite the youth, nicely balanced. Slightly sharp on the palate, very dry. Medium-long finish. Despite the youth, a sophisticated rum. Dry and complex. Ranks high among the Brut de Fut, the 2007 from memory I liked better.
Review by CaRaph
I was offered a sample of this rum from Bielle distillery. Nose is sweet, fresh and floral with honey, fruits and pepper scents. Palate is oily and quite warm, warmer than what I had expected, bringing chocolate, olive and iodine. Finish is long and ends palate really well. A very good rum :)

Second time as a blind tasting. The nose quite reminds me of Barbados production with added pepper. But the taste immediately corrects me. Clear agricole. Quite nutmeg at the end. Since I don't know the origin, I would have guessed domestic aging, maybe Bielle. And lo and behold, although not domestic, it was Bielle 😃

Retasted at home Typical Bielle nose (peanuts) Very satisfying palate Between agricole and wood not too dosed, Letting it breathe brings out notes of cognac, licorice, floral, Vaguely reminds me of a La Favorite Excellent

A brut agricole straight from the cask just how we like it... On the nose: the woody side of the cask stands out with obviously that agricultural part as well. On the palate: I feel the same thing, the wood stands out and the vegetal side of course, as well as a slight candied fruit note. Finish: very nice length. I struggle to give more different aromas but one thing is clear, it's this agricultural side with a nice brut de fût alcohol level that we are looking for, it definitely delivers on that promise.

This rum is sublime, on the nose it's indulgent, on the palate it's spicy, fruity, nutty, and to top it all off a long finish. To be savored
Review by Alexandre Rolin
Nice sample, really won over by this Bielle powerful and soft at the same time complex and indulgent. A real pleasure.
Review by Djehey
Typical connecting rod. But I prefer the 2014 at 56.9. Palais not at its best this evening, both seem very woody which shouldn't be the case. Probably due to what I had to eat.

Interesting nose on chocolate and honey, Less satisfied with the palate which I find below its little brother from 2014, Good product overall
