Notes taken during Rhum Fest 2024, Quick notes and a somewhat heavy palate, sorry :) Here we have: a young, marked, quite fiery Jamaican A rum: that will please those discovering Jamaica Finish: esters, ripe fruits, banana full on the nose. Not super complex, but effective.

#5230 12.04.2025 running some samples at home while listening to some Goa Psy Trance. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, banana, light pineapple, faint leather, spice. Palate Oily, light wood, fruity, overripe, banana, light floral, faint chocolate, spice, faint leather. Finish Long, fresh, light wood, fruits, light citrus, banana, faint nutts. Empty glass Nutts, chocolate, light vanilla.

Fruity Long Pond dominates over Clarendon. Unfortunately bottled a bit too thin.

🌴 Jamaican Rum (42.8%) Blend of rums from the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, distilled in pot stills and aged between 3 and 5 years. We find a nice aromatic power on ripe tropical fruits, with pastry notes and a slight resinous touch. It lacks a bit of complexity, but it's a step up compared to the Barbados.

It's good, all the Jamaican markers are present but too discreet, a consequence of the strong reduction quite noticeable on the palate. A very good juice for aperitif or to gently discover Jamaicans. Too bad, with a few more degrees it could have been of great quality.

Joey Star supposedly makes champagne... so I really wouldn't venture there. Rum, on the other hand, suits him better! A bottle of Jamaican?! Let's get to the tasting! And well, it's a success! A rum that smells like ultra-ripe fruit! An almost rotten banana flambéed in rum, a cocoa that surprises you but never goes far, and lots of sunshine and sharing! Jamaican, did you say?! Ohhh yes! Here we are!!! Congrats on the collab! Probably not the most complex Jamaican but a nice bottle to share with friends to show them that rum isn't necessarily vanilla caramel and that it's often much more fun to explore.

Well, the nose is nice and full of pep, the palate a little more subdued, but really good for not getting carried away.
