#4296 12.10.2023 Thos is a really good Long Pond. Well balanced and great ABV integration. Fruity with nice esters and medium roasted wood. The palate is warm and well rounded with nice fruits. The finish is very long and warm has a nice citrus touch. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has caramel and a light nutty note.

8,4:On the nose, esters and glue, vegetal molasses, briny, slightly sweet with honeycomb, roasted oak, smoky, without peanut butter, toffee, caramelized, spicy with baking spices, anise, tropical fruits like banana and papaya, citrus fruits with lemon, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, fruits are fermented, raisins join, the molasses is grassy with hay, earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea, floral, buttery with chocolate, nuts, pastry, some polish might be recognized. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with glue and polish, fruity with banana, orange peel, lemon, slightly sour, some of the fruits are candied, the molasses is vegetal with cereal hints, briny, flowery, a bit sweet with honeycomb.The wood is roasted with pastry, caramel, roasted nuts, spicy with anise, allspice, tannic. 8,2:The finish is long, dry&tannic, mild, medicinal with esters, slightly astringent with tropical, citrus fruits pairing roasted oak notes spicy, smoky. And on we go watching the Tour de France. Hopefully a more exciting stage than yesterday regarding the favorites. Last for today, a great Long Pond, doesn't reach the Savanna but still awesome :)

First of all, many thanks to Tobias for this sample! And what can I say... a first-class Long Pond... and when I also consider the release price... it's unbeatable. The nose is captivating and immediately fills the room with esters and tropical fruits. On the palate, wood and slight bitter notes come in... it fits perfectly together. On the finish, the fruit fades, but esters and wood last long. And all this at drinking strength 👍🏻

Great rum with plenty of glue, lots of tropical fruits and honey. On the nose still a bit buttery and a hint of raisins. On the palate then some almond and salty. On the finish especially banana and caramel. Alcohol perfectly integrated.

A Long Pond that I would count among the softer, smoother representatives. Caramel and toffee on the nose, but also the buttery note, which can often be positively mentioned in combination with milk chocolate. Still, some spice and sour fruit stir up the nose. Wood and roasted aromas play in the background and create a rounded picture. On the mouth spicy, sour, bitter. For me, it does not belong to the top class of LPs.

Nice fine glue on the nose. Tropical fruits such as papaya. Light citrus notes with the sweetness of raisins. Spiciness of lovage. Very pleasant and round. Dry and astringent on the palate at first, slightly sweet-bitter-salty, honey sweetness is there. Then comes a nutty-spicy almond-anise combo and at the same time fruit flavors such as orange peel and pineapple. At the end, lovage and - finally - banana. My first Jamaican rum, long undiscovered at the back of the shelf. But it was always something special for me. Now the bottle is empty. A great pity because it was a very, very nice rum.

not quite as complex as the 2nd. nice acid fruit balance, slightly salty sour fruity, lemons, banana, peanut butter, creamy and unfortunately hardly any wood. but also a relatively short finish. for me the 2nd is the clear winner here!

Color: Gold Smell: Ester, fruity - banana Solvent. Taste: Sweet, relatively mild and fruity in the mouth. When swallowing sweet, spicy-ester and fruity with vanilla and ripe mango. Finish: Medium length Pleasant, mild and still sweet. Ester, mango. Conclusion: Very tasty high ester rum
