One member reckons this might be the best continental Port Mourant '97 nose they've had, and the reviews back the character up. It's a lighter, more elegant PM than the dark and heavy ones — herbal tea, dried apricot and other dried fruit, a little wood, and a honeyed sweetness that softens the classic herb edge. At 50.3% the alcohol sits so well integrated a couple of tasters even wished for more punch.

Elegant, light-footed PM 97. The 50% is perfectly hit for me. This makes the rum super drinkable despite its depth. I'm usually not a fan of these herbal profiles, but here a nice honey sweetness comes through. Finish is relatively short.

A fine Port Mourant with a nice interplay between herbs and honey sweetness. The wood is not too present. The alcohol is very well integrated and makes it very drinkable without losing the aromas. That fits!

Cool Port Mourant, but somehow not dark at all :) Here we definitely have herbs, lots of (dried) fruits and also some wood. You don't feel the 50% at all, so I would have wished for a bit more punch. Edit: after resting a bit it does get quite dark.

The colour of the V&M is noticeable darker compared to the very pail continental TRC (only one year younger) and CC 97 PMs. (Still nowhere near the tropical Velier and ED 97, however). On the nose this one is also quite a bit ahead of the other two. More intense fruit notes, less alcohol and over all more balanced and complex. Might well be the best 97 PM (continental) nose I had so far.

Great PM Guyana with the right mix of herbal tea, wood, fruit and creaminess. Alcohol is present but well integrated. Medium-long, dry finish that keeps the whole flavor profile on the tongue for a while. Top!

I actually quite like the bottling with the "low" ABV because it develops nice aromas that you expect. For me not the extreme herbal bomb like some other comparable bottlings where the herbs are too much for me.

Nice herbal note with relatively little wood. Harmonizes well with the honey sweetness. Alcohol is perfectly integrated.
