This is a rounder, more accessible Long Pond than most — vanilla, honey and tropical fruit up front, then dark chocolate, wood and a light ester funk humming in the background. Really awesome Long Pond vintage! Fruity, creamy-chocolatey, plenty of esters, almost umami. Awesome stuff! Would really like to know the Ester Mark... Either way, definitely really super tasty.

Two VRWs side-by-side: V&M for M&E Singapore and HV for LMDW Singapore: On the nose both are quite balanced with vanilla, wood and tropical fruits. They truely need some time to breath to develop the classic VRW moellow honey and fruit nose. V&M comes with a bit more wood on the nose versus a bit lore punch and fruitiness on the HV. On the palate the pictures are similar. Smooth honey fruitiness with notes from the barrel (ie vanilla, woodieness and some chocolate). Again the V&M is a bit more in the dark side with the HV providing a bit more punch and intensity in the fruit notes. Both are extremly well balanced and round. Very enjoyably. Today the HV is a bit ahead for me.

Just the nose alone is amazing. There's a bit of everything: glue, coconut, tropical fruits, spices, wood, chocolate. On the palate, spices dominate, tropical and dried fruits with a subtle sweetness and a slight floral note. Alcohol is very well integrated. A very round and smooth Long Pond (probably a VRW), which for me just misses the 90s (9.0) mark. I'd love to have a bottle of that :)

Another very good bottling from Valinch & Mallet. The nose is very complex with aromas of ester, fruit, caramel and wood. Classy. On the palate, the well-integrated alcohol immediately stands out... soft, the rum spreads and initially brings a fruity sweetness accompanied by vanilla and allspice, then wood and a slight bacon note appear. This continues in the finish. It harmonizes and fits well together.

#5310 11.05.2025 Having a few samples while arranging my rum cabinets. Nose Fresh, light wood, light roasted, fruity, sweet, light cherry, spice, light orange. Palate Oily, fresh, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, naturally sweet, light cherry, light pineapple, faint glue, light mint. Finish Medium to long, light wood, fruits, light citrus, light mint, faint glue, light cherry. Empty glass Pineapple, light chocolate, vanilla, light mint. Needs to rest for a while to settle and really open up.

Super VRW, dark chocolate with wood and fruits. Light ester notes in the background. Overall well-integrated alcohol and good complexity. Compared to other Longpinds, VRW is overall significantly more accessible.

Tastes somehow like tropical aging, low quality. Probably ITP or at most VRW. Very successful, but I miss a bit more character.

Would assume this to be the VRW mark and would rate it similarily to the 2006 Velier one, although touch less fruit and sweetness in this one.
