Sipped neat, this drinks like a cane-juice rum that lands somewhere between St. Lucia and Martinique — a few members guessed Jamaica or agricole blind. Tasted in San Francisco at Smuggler's Cove and packed a bottle right away. Very pleasant, fresh nose paired with tropical fruits. Rather atypical for a St. Lucia, but awesome. On the palate creamy, pleasantly sweet and mildly spicy - simply delicious!

8,4:On the nose, the first impression we get is nougat, marzipan and roasted with burnt sugar, some solvents and fruity with pear, honeyed dried fruits.The sugar cane is a bit spicy, smoky and waxy. The ex bourbon cask ageing is quite noticeable, as the yellow fruits make stronger presence after the airing. Going towards more vegetal notes with grass, tea and flowers, a bergamot note is very pleasant... The roasted wood gives us some almond and caramel also. After well rested, some hints of sesame could be present... 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fruity with tropical, yellow fruits, spicy and fresh, agricole like with waxy and mineral, honeyed sugar cane. The wood is dry and roasted, smoky with nuts. Some acidity if citrus with salt is temporarily present, quickly wanes... After nice rest, the fruits are more dried and ripe with dried dates, figs, banana, peaches. It becomes a bit vegetal, musty. 8,5:The finish is woody, dry, there is mineral, waxy sugar cane, musty. The fruits are yellow and dried, there is very juicy mirabelle plum, nuts and some spice, after some time some se same might be present...

Very restrained, quasi shy nose. Also rather subtle aromatically and not a complexity bomb. But round, tasty and mild. White sesame seeds come through nicely here, with intense bourbon cask notes and some plantain, as well as honey. Round thing!

Tried at Smuggler Cove. Unfortunately, the bottles to buy are now sold out. I tried the last sip on site at the bar. Feels to me like a diluted RumX bottling. Also has something of the Black Forest cake with cherries.

This is my first Chairman's Reserve bottling in the glass made exclusively from sugarcane juice and I have to say, I like it very much. Not necessarily very complex, but this rum convinces me with its smooth texture and delicate bright notes of yellow fruits, honey and sugarcane as well as a solid, flawless bourbon cask influence.

An exceptional rum on the nose, woody, peppery, and tropical fruit scents well present. A bit disappointed on the palate, it needs to rest a bit so the alcohol is less present to rediscover all the good aromas. Still, it's an easy rum to appreciate.

An unusual somewhat shy nose, very much tea and potpourri. I wasn't convinced. But on the palate it's really an explosion of fruit spices and there's a nice cane behind a veil of cream, that really makes an impact. I was at 8.5, I went up to 8.6 because the finish is really very long and heady. Great discovery! Still a fan of these old Chairmans (while the basic range is boring to death).

This rum from the small island of Saint Lucia comes from a batch of samples sent by RumX. The first impression on the nose is very fresh, lively in alcohol and agricole in taste. It would be complicated to differentiate it from a Martinique rum. Very fruity, the aromas focus on yellow fruits (apricots, peaches, a bit of mirabelles). The wood is present but young, bringing hints of bourbon vanilla. Really nice. The palate immediately brings a lot of warm spices: a bit of pepper, chili, with a hint of licorice. The yellow fruits coat the taste buds with a slight smokiness. But overall, it's mainly the freshness of the sugar cane that carries everything. At the end of the mouth, a bit of honey and young wood soften everything. The finish is moderately long. With these spicy cane accents, it leaves a rather creamy side on the tongue. The retro-olfaction returns notes of nuts, softened with honey. I find this terroir quite underrated. Saint Lucia and Chairman's Reserve offer well-made rums. I found similarities with a Neisson ESB.

Smell. Woody with yellow fruits and a bit of agricole. On the taste then intensely nutty. Could have a little more alcohol for me. But it's very mild. I've had better from Chairmans and personally it doesn't blow me away.

Nice surprise. A bit funky, lots of fruit accompanied by spices and light wood hints. The finish is long and warm. Blind, I would have guessed Jamaica. Price-performance is really very good.

Has something special in taste... A slight tingling😅 very pleasant in taste. A good import. Nose is very pleasant. Slightly spicy nose. Slightly dries out the mouth. Lingers a bit longer in the mouth. Great stuff.

On the nose definitely the bourbon for me present. A hint of clove. On the palate then a certain smokiness. But not on whisky level. No worries. All in all solid. Doesn’t knock you off your feet though.
