Not the fruity Australian some expect — this Beenleigh leans chocolatey and roasted, with light toasted oak, caramel and a cherry note underneath. Several tasters compare it to Foursquare: dry, well-built, more woody than tropical. At 64.4% it runs hot, and the alcohol isn't fully tucked in — a few drops of water round off the sharp edges. #4251 16.09.2023 Whisky N Rum Show 2023. This was a nice surprise especially when looking at the price tag. A well rounded rum with nice fruity notes and well balanced light roasted wood. Oily on the palate and a long warm finish. I picked up some marzipan in the empty glass.

A souvenir from the Pueblo del Ron Nuremberg 2024. At first, it reminded me a little of Foursquare. But unfortunately I don't think the alcohol is really well integrated. For me, it's too sharp-edged and not balanced. With a little water it becomes more pleasant, but unfortunately it's not quite convincing here either.

Not as fruity as the other Australians. Slightly less complex, more chocolaty, goes more in the direction of Foursquare. Alcohol could be better integrated.
