Tasting 25.06.2026 RX 17082 Ron Aldea. Christmas calendar rum. Nose: a bit closed, needs 30 min. air. Alcohol, caramel, light lime. Palate: Spicy profile, vanilla and caramel, honey butter bourbon oak, tobacco. Glass: Sweet bourbon oak. Tasting "In the cave"

I have a good memory of it. Already the visit to the distillery was nice, then we have small 20cl bottles very practical for tasting. We have spices, honey, tobacco, a bit of fruit. It's short on the palate, but it's good!

Ich finde diesen Rum eigentlich ganz gut hat eine schöne Würze und ich schmecke einen Hauch Vanille und Karamell heraus. Jetzt nicht der Oberburner, aber für seine 43% echt nicht schlecht. Ich mag diesen Rum, ich mag aber auch die meisten:)

To finish the "24 days of rum" calendar, I'm going to do 4-5 samples each day. In the nose I found burnt caramel and and spices. In the notes, more spicyness and hints of tobacco. Could enjoy this one more, with a higer ABV

Tried a few Ron Aldea's. I like em. Mostly well aged rums. No sugar. First nosing: very light. Some bitter orange notes. Honey. Very subtle Taste: somewhat velvetty/waxy mouthfeel. Bourbon oak. Vanilla. Buttery. Interesting. Very different than I expected. Honeycomb. Definitely underperforming...but not bad at all

Green and citrusy on the nose, unfortunately quite alcoholic. On the palate then quite sweet, with lots of light wood, orange, and ginger. Unfortunately also quite alcoholic here. No major failure, but also relatively unremarkable. Good beginnings, especially the combo of grassy and oily orangey, which unfortunately drowns in a really unsuitable alcohol note. A pity.

13th day of 24 days of rum calendar. 👃 is a little bit alcoholic but mostly fruity. I sense orange, orange peel and mostly citrus fruits. It is fresh and a bit spicy. 👅 is spicy too. Sweetness is well balanced and soft with mostly vanila and caramel. I also sense burnt sugar in corelation with caramel. Finish is short to medium long.

Nose: Very alcoholic for 43%; beyond that, hardly any clear aromas. Palate: Sweetish, but the alcohol is not well integrated and feels sharp. Some spice, very little fruit, and hardly any barrel influence. Finish: Short. Conclusion: Not a good overall impression for me: too little aroma, too little barrel, and questionable alcohol integration.

Sample no.13 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. Nose: Sweet sugarcane and some orange peels. Palate: Round and sweet with an aftertaste that reveals the sugarcane juice. Some faint orange and barrelwood.

This rum is quite aggressive for 43% alcohol! On the nose, you know it’s going to be strong on the palate and it doesn’t miss, from the first sip, the rum goes right up to your nose lol. Anyway, I love it and I drink it straight. On the other hand, the finish isn’t long enough, that’s a shame, but this rum remains a good investment. Definitely add it to your collection!
