Tasting at the wine merchant and pleasantly surprised! A blend between indulgence and light funk, fruits, vanilla, soft spices. Very light esters that enhance everything. At 50€ it’s surely a good bottle to offer.

Asta Morris offers here a blend of Dominican, Bajan and Jamaican rums, and the mix works surprisingly well. The nose is on exotic fruits (banana, pineapple), with a little medicinal side on the esters and spicy and peppery touches here and there. You could recognize the style of Worthy Park, which gives some body to this nicely rounded nose. The profile doesn’t lie on the palate: the Jamaican winks with a heap of sweetness and a very subtle funky side. The Hispanic and Bajan styles are drier, spicier, toasted and woody, offering a nice contrast that balances the mouth. The 10% Jamaican rum goes down very well, adding something to this rum from which one might have expected something more bland. The alcohol level could have been higher. The finish, which could have been longer, gives back this subtle mix between fruity and spicy sweetness, caramelized softness and esters. The finish is pleasant, not very complex but tasty. A successful blend for a pleasure rum.

Quite ester-heavy nose considering the contained strength. Banana and pineapple, some spices. The palate follows suit. Finish not that short. It can be a good gateway to English-style rums, for its price and interest.

It's an easy sipper. Tastes pretty sweet so I'm assuming there is some sugar added to it. Not something rum aficionados would really appreciate, but for someone just getting into sipping rum, this would probably be a good experience. In general finding it too sweet.
