Saint James Âge XV 15 Ans (Le Comptoir Irlandais) 2007
Sip this one neat and slow — it's cask strength but the alcohol sits well. The nose is classic Saint James: waxed wood, spice and floral yellow fruit. On the palate the wood takes over, with black chocolate, cardamom, coffee and a chili prickle. Several tasters call it their brightest, most fruit-forward Saint James, though the fruit fades fast into oak.
- Bright yellow fruit
- Well-integrated alcohol
- Chocolate and spice

The quintessence of St James rhum agricole The character of the cane and the smoothness of the oak barrel selected by Marc Sassier guarantee a long finish and remarkable complexity. A fine selection for the Rugby World Cup! To be enjoyed without moderation, despite its 54% alcohol content, which will delight fans of traditional French rums!

A powerful St James, precious wood, vibrant, confident, ultra-dense and compact. Some would say too woody, but I think we're on the markers of a great old spinnaker...

Excellent SJ with great tropical sticky notes and nice complexity!

Sour red currants, dried fruit, green spicy cardamom, green mint and menthol, Ethiopian cold brew coffee, light vanilla and dark chocolate and very subtle green Thai chili as well as cinnamon and tiramisu... Delicious, round and intense. Great piece!

#4465 12.11. 2023 Very nice rum and the price to quality is very good in my mind. Fruity with nice spices and some added wood. Light Agricole notes. The palate is oily and fruity with a light mint note. The finish is medium to long with light added cinnamon. The empty glass has some chocolate and a light grassy note.

The typical profile of Saint James ...a woody presence right away ....integration rather accomplished and an explosive palate on spices, cardamom, chocolate and pepper ... Average length...a very pretty martiniquais.
Review by Maxime Clr 🇫🇷
On the nose, the Saint James profile is immediately apparent: wood, spices and a beautiful floral side with associated yellow fruit. It's fine and smells good. On the palate, it's quite pleasant, but loses all its fruitiness to spices, pepper and dark chocolate. A fine bottle without being exceptional, with good integration of the alcohol. Lacks a little length.

Unsurprisingly for St James, the first nose is very woody, almost waxed parquet I find. The palate is spicy, even spicy. Chocolate aromas follow.
Review by Righrum
The nose is pretty typical St James, but you can have a preview of the tannic astringency you'll meet when drinking. Very floral at the beginning, the nose then turns into coffee and wood. On the palate the wood is overwhelming, it's a pity because profile is pretty nice
