A nicely balanced rum in the flavours, but the ABV could have been integrated a lot better. The empty glass has really nice flavours after an hour and it draws pretty nice curtains in the glass.

I got my hands on a sample from this one. In the nose i can‘t found some specific notes from panama… The alcohol isn’t integrated well and the 60% are well notable as well the barrel. Anyway I expected a bit more from this. PN: This isn‘t a daily rum!

Strong start, quite a tingling on the tongue due to the fairly strong alcohol, yet the alcohol feels well integrated. Typical, if tasty, easy sipping Panama rum that comes across a bit spicier than other representatives. Price/performance is right, nice rum.

Not much to discover on the nose but an explosion of flavors in the mouth as I know it from the Foursquare 2007. The finish is nicely intense, long and balanced with wood, roasted and dried fruit aromas. The 60% vol. alcohol is well integrated. A joy to drink.

My RumRatings review from 6 years ago: The rum is very complex on the nose with notes of molasses, grapes, and barrel influence. On the palate just a drop is needed for a huge unfolding of aromas. The rum gives a natural barrel sweetness with lots of fruit, sugarcane, wood, and lots of barrel. Creamy with full body, the alcohol feels very pleasant as it unfolds in the mouth and releases aromas that are not directly perceptible at drinking strength in the Artesano Recioto Cask. The finish is long and intense. A pure pleasure. The Artesano Recioto Cask at barrel strength is a great experience and complement to the same rum at 41.1%. It should be enjoyed calmly and is a great example of how good Mr. Lauingen is at barrel selection.

The Sweet Wine Cask finish really dominates everything on this palate. In a way it overwashed the rum and I do not know if that is a bad thing. In the end this mostly shines in the alcohol integration and the rather okayish cask finish...
