Day trip Dortmund August 2025. Shop Stendels. I actually ended up buying this Ceylon Arrack. Fruity nose, also fruity and slightly sweet on the palate, but somehow I'm missing the typical Arrack flavor from Artur's tasting.

Made in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Arrak is made from coconut palm sap harvested, distilled and aged in Halmilla, the island's native tree. A different experience 😜

On the nose, there are light notes of caramelized coconut. However, these are overshadowed by strong alcoholic and floral scents. The taste reflects this similarly. At first, there's a brief hint of tropical fruits and caramelized coconut, but then quickly a medicinal, biting flavor that lasts into the finish. I would recommend letting the rum breathe for a while so the strong alcoholic notes can dissipate.
