#5322 08.05.2025 Relaxing while watching the TV show Body Bizarre. Nose Light, wood, fruity, light licorice, light chocolate, light citrus, faint coffee. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, light licorice, sweet, light caramel, light herbal, light spicy, dried fruit. Finish Medium long, light spicy, wood, light roasted, sweet, light caramel, faint coffee, faint prunes. Empty glass Caramel, vanilla, light coffee, prunes, chocolate.

This rum is not necessarily complex, especially on the nose, but the profile is just very pleasing. You feel like you're eating a caramel candy pimped with coffee beans, cocoa, and malt beer.

Probably lots of SV mark in this Demerara. Initial smell: yes coffee. Caramel. Burnt sugar. Cocoa. Leather. Not too heavy. Taste: although light still pretty big flavours. Lots of coffee. Dark chocolate. Wood. Bitters. Caramac candy bars. Not bad. A bit onesided for all the stuff Diamond can make but a nice gateway for the more thick woody Guyanese stuff (with probably some e150 aged with the cask).

Very unbalanced and way too sweet. On the nose: coffee, caramel, burnt sugar, cocoa, and leather. On the palate light but aromatic: lots of coffee, dark chocolate, wood, some bitterness. Solid, though one-sided entry.

Tasting during a Rum Nation Masterclass. 👃 The work on the barrel charring gives good aromas. Burnt wood, coffee and cocoa roasting, cappuccino, chocolate/banana/vanilla combo, concentrated caramel, it's still a bit sweet, Demerara sugar, candied prunes and a bit of leather. 😋 We find the same markers as on the nose accompanied by hot licorice, a big syrupy side, molasses, caramel. Light dried fruits from the sherry. ⛳ The finish is rather short, quite sweet and syrupy nonetheless, on burnt wood, barrel, sherry, tannins, quite a lot of cooking spices and chocolate. 💡 The ambassador informs us that after aging in a Bourbon barrel, a second Bourbon barrel was sprayed with pure cane juice inside the staves then burned. Then, the rum aged 2 more years in a Sherry barrel. An interesting process work.

This is a nice rum. It drinks nicely. The taste and smell remind me a bit of an anise/licorice liqueur. I found the taste comparable to candies like Wybert or Potters. I will definitely order this more often.

Actually a solid nose with lots of cask, roasted aromas, smoke, malt, caramel, burnt sugar, coffee, chocolate, leather. Plus some fruit in the form of banana and plum. Tasty and balanced on the mouth, though a bit thin, but definitely not overly sweet, which is not a given in this segment.

I didn't expect much and didn't get much either. Coffee clearly dominates in taste and aroma, besides that a bit of caramel and gently toasted notes. There are better rums and not a few of them.

Nosing Demerara sugar, chocolate deep taste This truly tatses like a dialled down woods rum . Proper Demerara sugar that's deep in dark chocolate , raisens and woody ... Nice umdosed tatse of Demerara.. blantent from DDL distillery , sometimes ddl get bad representative from dosed sugar this feels without ... Very clean on the after taste

Nose Barrel and coffee. Stong with hint of dried plum It has syropy mouthfeel, but it is not syropy in taste. Heavy rum. Melases, barrel, cacao, some coffee like mocha. At the end is very pleasent sherry. I would love that rum to have more of this sherry notes, but it is only some aftertaste. Finish is short with sherry and mocha coming out more and quickly fading away Good heavy rum. Pleasent and not overwhelming, but it is quick and shallow expirence. I'm suprise that rum don't have really robust taste with at least medium finish

Incredible fragrance for the nose. Honestly impressive smell and then the surprise with the taste. Very spicy and at the same time not harsh. Would recommend it for mixers but if you are used to rums, give it a go!
