English Harbour Madeira Finish (Batch Number 003) 2017
More than one member calls this their "anchor rum" — the everyday bottle they keep coming back to. The nose reads a bit hot and woody, but the palate is where it wins: lots of oak, caramel, dried fruit and tropical notes, with the Madeira carrying through from start to finish. Light-bodied and dry, not spectacular, but honest and well made.
The community says- Clear Madeira note
- Woody and dry
- But: Alcoholic nose

How does English Harbour Madeira Finish (Batch Number 003) 2017 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Dry, woody everyday sipper with Madeira Most agree it's a well-made, dry everyday sipper with strong wood and a clear Madeira thread. The nose runs alcoholic and thin-bodied, but the palate makes up for it.

Quite an alcoholic nose despite the low ABV, the Madeira is present and reinforces this alcoholic side. The woodiness is quite marked, with tannins and bitterness. The palate is much fruitier, but more on the dried fruit side. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is of medium length, with woody bitters and vanilla. Apart from the nose, this is a fine rum, well-made and pleasant.

This English Harbour series (Sherry, Port, Madeira) are probably the best cheap rums you can get. Very solid rums for very good price. I always recommend it to beginners that want something sugarless.

The nose doesn't really pick me up yet: Alcoholic, a little wood. Fortunately, the taste then picks up a little: fruit, roasted aromas, somewhat more complex. Finish: dry with vanilla and medium length. Really solid. PLV good.

Good rum. Very good value for money. Slightly alcoholic on the palate but still quite balanced. Lots of caramel and tropical fruits. I recommend tasting although my favorite remains the sherry cask finish.

Nose wood, spicy, a little Madeira; great on the tongue: lots of wood, more wood, subtle sweetness, nicely complex towards the back, a little spicy, but very exciting
