Sipped neat, this 16-year Worthy Park leans fruity and floral: mealy banana, papaya, cream toffee, then orange peel, sandalwood and a light ester funk. At 62% the alcohol is mostly tucked in, though a few tasters catch a soapy or yogurt note late. Give it time and a drop of water. Several call it one of the better WPs they've had.

Bottle Market Bremen October 2024. Wow, a really cool Worthy Park. Nose very fruity and lots of esters. On the palate also a lot of esters and tropical fruits. A really tasty Jamaican, you can't go wrong with it.

Unfortunately can't keep up with other really good 2007 Worthy Park vintages. First a fascinating floral fruity nose with banana, rose and sandalwood, but taste-wise unfortunately very bitter, spicy mainly with nutmeg, ginger, licorice and lots of wood and a slightly soapy floral note that I really don't like and the alcohol could also be better integrated... No trace of banana or other fruits. So unfortunately rather a disappointment for me... Shame!

Spicy and very mature Worthy Park. Surprisingly good. 😯 I'm not a big WP fan, but this one has something. Nice sweetness and fruitiness tastes like tropical maturation. Alcohol perfectly integrated. I'll test it in a Mai Tai in May; I think it could work well.

One of the best Worthy Parks I've tasted so far. Straightforward and honest, clear WP DNA, but surprisingly complex and powerful. Definitely needs some time in the glass to unfold.

#4582 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit This was a surprisingly good rum and I will get one for my tastings because I think many will like it. Nose Medium wood, light roasted, fruity, fresh, floral, light ester. Palate Warm, wood, light roasted, fruity, floral, light medicinal. Finish Long, wood, light roasted, orange, light floral, light medicinal. I really like that you can buy 10 cl samples.

Spontaneous tasting with FischeJ on the roof terrace of our hotel. First of all, thanks for all the drams and the nice conversation. As for the rum itself, it was a nice surprise for me. I really quite enjoyed it.

Super Worthy Park with some depth in the otherwise shallow WP area. Unfortunately a bit alcoholic in the back, otherwise nothing to complain about.

Blind tasting Worthy Park with: HV WPL (RX272) HV WPM (RX1089) Schotman (RX17173) Wolfgang Klotz (RX21848) TWJ (RX14182) 3rd place (8.4): TWJ. The nose is quite closed and ends up somewhat unbalanced both on the nose and palate. Slightly bitter on the palate and also in the finish. 2nd place (8.6): HV WPL + WK Spirits. The WK brings overall more wood and spices and with lots of time in the glass also more fruity aromas. The HV WPL also needs some time in the glass but then has a nicely complex nose. On the palate, besides tropical fruits, also subtle glue and esters. 1st place (8.7): HV WPM + Schotman. The Schotman is probably the roundest WP in the cross-tasting with a nice peach note. The WPM stands out with smoky aromas and licorice a bit. WP has flown under my radar so far, unjustly. I'm really positively surprised and will probably have a WP in my glass more often in the future :)

For me, this is one of, if not the best bottlings from Schotman. Nose: A lot of funk, esters, and waxy notes, complemented by lovely oak/wood aromas. Really appealing. Palate: From the first sip, unmistakably a rum from Worthy Park, Wp-fruitbasket and woody. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Finish: Long, slightly “soapy,” yet fruity, with notes of licorice and black tea.

I took a sample with me on a business trip 😎. I had already tried this Schotman at the 12th GRF in Berlin, but today again in peace... Nose: fruity, almost floral. At first the 62% bite a bit, but also carry nice aromas. Initially there is mealy banana with papaya, accompanied by plenty of creamy toffee. This sweet combo also reminds of fragrant blossoms, rose or rosehip blossom. Behind that comes dry, fragrant sandalwood. Now some citrus notes and restrained esters come through. Overall unobtrusive and quite round. 8.1 Palate: already strong. Spicy-fruity. Initially intense ginger, caraway and nutmeg and nicely salty. Behind that fine citrus fruit, mandarin and kumquat and slightly bitter orange or lemon peel. Gets a slight hit of soap or yogurt towards the end. Overall a good WP. 8.3 Since WP from my experience is otherwise not exactly a guarantee for high-class rum, this one is already among the clearly better ones.

Classic Worthy Park aroma on the nose and palate with banana, black tea, some spice and light menthol. Very round and balanced, gets even better with a little water. No surprises here, just a very successful Worthy Park.

25/01/2025: tasted @ Liquid Leuven in "De Hoorn". Pretty good Worthy Park. Very fruity both on the nose and the palate. For the right price, this might be recommended. Overall, good pick by Schotman.

A really nice cask pick by schotman. He seems careful with his selection and you can taste it here. This is really on the better side of worthy park. Some unusual hints of rosewood and orange peel. Quite appealing
