Candied oranges, raisins, cotton candy, hidden stewed yellow plums, a few Christmas spices... ...soft, even really creamy in the mouth but not watery, has volume, the 40% ABV fits well, the nose repeats itself + some milk chocolate... ...medium length, a bit of wood can be guessed, the spices get a bit stronger and more bitter and it stays sweet. Dangerously easy to drink, it goes down like oil. It's quite simple, but I still like it.

The first rum, which caused me to fall in love with rums. It's heavy, sweet and fruity (mostly orange and raisins). Most of the rum lovers hate A.H. Riise for their sweetness but to be honest, if somebody ask me, how the sailor's rum should taste, first which I will told - sweet and heavy, like you will drink a bread.

Not quite as bad as the founders reserve but still extremely sweet and artificial. More reminiscent of Fanta syrup with licorice and roasted aromas. The alcohol is reasonably well integrated here, but I still wouldn't call it delicious.

Day 13 of my Christmas Calendar and this is still a rum I don't emreally want to dance with. Very sweet and lots of caramel. The nose is actually rather light. ----------- This rum is way too sweet and caramel is pungent and super dominant. Not my cup of tea.

Ein weicher und süßer Rum aus dem Hause A.H. Riise. Rosinen, Pflaumen und Karamell prägen das Geschmacksbild und natürlich die allgegenwärtige Riise-typische Süße. Ein guter Einsteigerrum, nicht mehr aber auch nicht weniger.

Der perfekte Rum für gemischtes Eis oder Müsli. Zum pur trinken etwas für die süße Fraktion. Passt aber ganz gut in Cocktails. Von daher kann man Riise nicht verteufeln. Jeder rum hat seine Berechtigung…fast jeder :-)

Eine 40%ige Spirituose auf Rum Basis mit viel Zucker und Aromen. Direkt nach dem Eingießen ist der Alkohol noch recht dominant. Leider absolut keine Informationen, außer das es aus „altem“ Rum basiert, auf der Flasche und dem Karton. Nach 5 Minuten hat man einen sehr dominanten fruchtigen Duft in der Nase, welcher etwas künstlich wirkt. Der Gaumen schmeckt süß, Orange und Lakritze recht intensiv. Ein „Likör“ mit etwas mehr Biss. Fazit: Nice try but no banana.

Wenn es kälter draußen wird, dann ist für mich Riise Rum Zeit, da diese Rum in der Regel süß sind und mich an Weihnachten erinnern. Dieser Rum ist süß, aber auch würzig. Frucht schmecke ich kaum, es dominiert der Geschmack nach Karamell und etwas Schoko. Ein guter Riise Rum, passt gut zum Winter. Aber keiner von meinen Riise Favoriten, da wenig fruchtig und relativ würzig. Ich mag es fruchtiger, weniger würzig, mehr mild. Auch fehlt mir mehr Geschmack in Richtung Schoko oder Karamell. Alles in allem guter Rum aber gibt bessere.

Very good, rich but still easy sipping rum with character 🔝 Nose: very rich and caramel 👍 Maybe some light mint hints in the back ... Body: full-rounded liqueurish body that confirms the nose - way too sweet for my taste 🤷♂️ Finish: long and sweet - again not my favourite cup of tea... All in all, rum for the "rookies" and advanced rum lovers ☝️

A tasting from december 2018. Back then, this was okay for me, but today it would be way too sweet. And it would not be called rum today. It is sweet and a bit spicy in the nose, and very sweet in the taste, with notes of candied apples and some spice.

First glue and raisin in the nose. Then sugar peanuts. After a while apricot. After having tried five different ones from the same range, I can say that the nose is actually best of all five. The taste is very different and pretty one-sided: Candied orange peel and also a bit of spice. A light nuttiness again in the finish. Overall a bit too sweet for my taste.

Sehr schöner Süßrum. Gefühlt etwas weniger würzig als andere Riise, wodurch die Süße noch mehr durchkommt. Die starken Pfirsicharomen in der Nase nehmen im Geschmack etwas ab, wodurch der Rum etwas an Eigenheit und damit Charakter verliert. Nicht der beste, aber ein guter Riise.

If Pussers British Royal Navy Rum is world class Navy rum then this is the England football team. Overrated? Vastly in certain circles. The worst rum I have ever had? Probably.
