TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV REV 1994
Sip this one neat and give it time in the glass — it opens slowly into dried plum, dark chocolate, leather and tobacco, with a spicy herbal edge and a long, slightly bitter finish. This is a 29-year cask-strength Enmore from the famous 1994 REV vintage, and tasters keep landing around the same verdict: rich, dark and beautifully balanced, with the wood now clearly in charge. A few note it's just past its peak, leaning more wood and leather than fruit.
- Dark chocolate, dried plum
- Well-integrated alcohol
- Long intense finish

How does TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV REV 1994 taste?
Aggregated from 47 community reviews.
Dark, woody 29-year Enmore for sipping Loved across the board as a top 1994 REV — dark, oily and well-balanced with great cigar-box and chocolate notes. The catch: the long aging pushes wood and bitterness forward, so it reads drier and less fruity than earlier bottlings.

Another great REV. Nose is outstanding. On the palate, typical dark aromas - oak, prunes, herbs, leather, licorice. Bitterness is present but not pronounced. Alchohol integration is very good. Needs some time in glass to fully open up. Intense and challenging. 94/100

Once again an absolutely more than successful bottling from TheRumCask. I am enthusiastic about one of the best REVs from 94. For the price, I think the performance delivered here is completely justified.

Oh, that color in the glass alone, mahogany with red reflections! Nose: overwhelming! Ripe plums on the baking sheet reduced to thick mush with a hint of clove. No trace of alcohol far and wide. On the palate, the fruitiness recedes into the background and makes way for the spices and especially the barrel notes. In between I perceive a note like resin and herbs. The finish is very long and varied. The barrel notes are dominant, but leave enough room for dried fruits and spices and a slight bitterness. A wonderful rum for the colder season!

Plum, tobacco, molasses and licorice, long, bitter finish - I can't write too much about this rum, except that I think it's perfect!

Top Rev, I like it very much

This is an excellent REV that fits in seamlessly with the 94s...and relatively far ahead. The high alcohol content transports the aromas perfectly. The wood influence is now clearly noticeable and this vintage should not be aged much longer! A great anniversary bottling from TRC, my highlight!

"Blue hour" reinterpreted for a change: in a daring blind crosstasting with the now considered Unicorn REV 1994 from Wild Parrot (RX7680). Well, one glass content was more appealing on the nose and palate, deeper and more intense than the other, but both incredibly attractive, dark and malty. And when I looked under the glass after pre-labeling, the more appealing rum was the legendary WP. But - and now some may be disappointed or surprised - I perceived the differences to be minimal, the rums were hard to tell apart, especially olfactorily. Ultimately, only the longer, roastier finish of the WP tipped the scales to give it 1 point more than the TRC. One can see this assessment but also very positive: Both rums are absolute top class and the new TRC turns out to be a real stroke of luck, can play for me among the 94 REVs at the top. Congratulations! Update 2023-10-14 (Day after initial tasting): SAKRILEG! But it really is an empirical fact that the TRC keeps the great typical REV smell significantly longer and more intense in the emptied glass than the WP. And that is clearly worth me an upgrade of 1 point, so that now between the two compared REVs 1994 TRC and WP is equal - who would have thought that before! (There I was probably a bit hasty with my rating yesterday and should have done it like @Kevin - always also smell the emptied glass!) Blind Crosstasting definitely recommended to imitate, am curious about the impressions of others. 😉

Wow, hervorragender Rum, echt klasse.

What a dram, sweet and spicy, balanced without any off-notes and just the right amount of wood. The alcohol is also integrated pretty well but I preferred it with a few (!) drops of water. Doing a re-visit with another sample, it even gets closer to 9.2.

#4464 11.11.2023 Enjoying a few samples before I have to give a tasting close to my home. Advantage is I can walk there and back really fast so I can participate as well. Ooooh, what a nice release. Intense and well balanced, what more can you ask for in this world. I knew this was going to be good, but it's really good. Medium fruity profile with an intense palate in good balance. Fruity with spices, wood and a light licorice touch. The palate is oily and kind of refreshing. The finish is long, intense and medium dry with chocolate raisins. Draws wonderful curtains in the glass. The empty glass has stronger chocolate and licorice as well as a light coffee note.

An excellent REV that has everything a first class REV needs. I am looking forward to a comparison with others soon....

Demerara! The coloring adds a very nice sweetness and a flavor of caramel in addition to the typical demerara character of dried fruits, wood, and toasted cask

A very good 1994 Enmore REV. Rich, powerful nose, with chocolatey hints and lots of forest, especially currants. The palate is dense, and the roundness we find on the nose is even more evident. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is a great solo with very pleasant notes of bitter chocolate, brine and dates. I love Enmore 94s and this rum is definitely one of the best expressions of it even if one or two points lower than the next Enmore Rev 94 that will be bottled by Distilia and that I had the pleasure of tasting in preview.

Heavenly nose - intense, toasty dark, leather and some black currant. On the palate, the high expectations can be met - really good REV! Alcohol very well integrated and pleasant bitter tones. Looking forward to the cross comparison.

the Nobilis 94 Enmore REV / 28 yo competes against the TRC 94 Enmore REV / 29 yo. The higher ABV of the Nobilis is definitely noticeable, but not distracting. Both are nicely balanced, with the typical markers of dried fruit (prune), tobacco, malt, herbs. The TRC comes across a bit more red currant. Probably due to the higher ABV, the Nobilis still seems a bit more sweet-caramel, likewise on the palate. Both top, but the TRC I like (today) still a nuance better.

Great REV with a beautiful presence on the palate. The nose initially has the expected notes of prune and leather, but paired with a great fresh fruit note reminiscent of redcurrant. On the palate, in addition to prune, leather and barrel impressions, the alcohol is also recognizable, but this suits the rum well and brings out a pleasant intensity. All in all, a great release that doesn't have to hide in the wider field of 1994 REVs. Excellent!

Super REV 🤤 drank without direct comparison but found it very, very tasty. Either everything tastes good to me - because I've been drinking extremely little recently - or it's a blast 😂 I'll take the second half of the sample with me for a more active drinking time.

Very nice bottling again. However, I feel like we have surpassed the peak for the 94 REV vintage, looking at the latest releases. While this one is a good pick from TRC, it is very wood/leather/dark notes forwards missing out on the dried fruits which put some of the prior bottlings at the very top for me. That said: I‘d drink this one happily every day. :)
Review by TheRhumhoe
Despite its advanced age, this Enmore delivers a most honorable performance. The nose develops dark, heavy aromas. There's lovely fruitiness on prune, plum, blackcurrant and raisin, but also woody notes accompanied by dark chocolate, coffee, walnut, leather and malty, spicy notes of licorice, pepper and cinnamon. Cola and molasses add sweetness, while black tea, floral and herbaceous notes add freshness. A complete and delightful olfactory profile. The palate is rich and opulent: prune, raisin and black tea are heavy, followed by ample notes of dark chocolate, coffee, ultra-dark wood with malt, leather, warm spices (licorice, chili, cinnamon) and roasted notes. Tobacco, herbal notes and burnt sugar only amplify this gourmet mouthfeel. The alcohol is superbly well integrated. The finish, however, is a little short and effete compared to other REVs, surely due to long and intense aging, showing the age limits of the REV profile. Overall, the same aromas are present, but with more bitterness and a drier finish. An extremely pleasant, rich and elegant rum, confirming the almost legendary status of Enmore 1994.
